Not sure if it has been discussed but what do CAM members think of this Tv series. I do enjoy watching it and feel like I am back in the 70s . The music is done well. Love seeing the now vintage gear.

First episode was really good. The rest was disappointing.

The sets/decor seem to be quite 'up to date' for that era. The visual effects a la Scorcese alongside the cool tunes = nice juxtaposition and the characters are convincing, believable. Oh, and the fantasy of rock and roll...ROCK ON !

+1

And what is with the punk music in 1973? And the murder plot line? I gave it four episodes and checked out. Damn.... really disappointed.

You are right about some of the music. The guy portraying Bo Diddley... wow... excellent.

That just my humble opinion.

I look forward to it every Sunday, it's better than most of the crap out there. The show is deep rooted in music regardless of the additional story lines. Bobby Cannavale and Ray Romano are top notch.

Couldn't finish watching the first episode, I found it disappointing. I may give another try and see if it grows on me. I'm not watching anything else anyway.

I am enjoying it. A little slow at times, imho, but worth the watch.

Watched the first episode, self indulgent juvenalia. I'll pass on the rest.

This is a series, not a movie. They are taking time to build sub-plots etc. They are going to great extremes to capture the the start of Punk, Glam and disco. The label in question is at the vanguard of the change. I can only imagine what the runaway success will do with the principle character. Being now partnered with th e mob etc.
It is a decent show. Better than most of the formulaic crap out there.

I love it, look forward to it every Sunday like James_W
I did find the first and second episodes a little slow to build on what they are trying to portray.
I would agree it's not for everyone, even me I'm an 80's child but I really dig the 70's music..
Bobby and Ray are quite gifted in this series, and I never liked Bobby in anything he did before this..

Cool series, a bit over the top here and there, but I like it. Really impressed with Ray Romano.
The episode with Elvis and the Colonel is great...I thought the guy who played Elvis did a GREAT interpretation of his persona.

Agreed with some of the other comments, better fare than much of the dreck out there.

My wife and I both look forward to every episode. And I agree that both Robbie and Ray are top notch in this series. And it brings both of us back!
Cheers, Doug

Well after reading a few responses here..... I guess I'll pick up where I left off and see if I can get back into it.

"SPOILER ALERT".......

I think it was that weird murder plot line that didn't sit right with me. That seemed too out of place.

But true....it is better than 99% of the crap out there. I think I had unreal expectations because it was Martin and Mick.

Maybe I'll lay out a few "lines" on the glass coffee table, drink some Jack Daniels and strap myself into the lazy boy for the remaining episodes.

Worst case scenario you can watch a formulaic zombie show where key characters die due to conflicts with interchangeable bad guys. I think that also covers Sons of Anarchy, minus the zombies.
