First, love Miles. Read his autobiography. Man he was a hard man. Will be interesting to see how his racism is presented. The only white he ever liked - playing with - was Bill Evans. Hard book to read, but a great story to tell. soundtrack will be great!

Wow, this movie looks great. Don Cheadle is the man to play him. He's got the voice down for sure. I have many Miles albums including Down On The Corner which is such a great funk jazz album . Miles musical range was awesome. Some of my favs are Miles Smiles, Relaxin With Miles, Somethin' Else (for Canonball Adderley's album)sessions and Sketches Of Spain, Birth Of The cool, so many to name really.

Well, as a trumpet player, I liked the movie. It pulls no punches and Hawke does a very credible job of portraying Baker.

And I was always more into players like Maynard Ferguson and Doc Severinsen than Chet Baker.

Finally bought a 180gm copy of Kind of Blue.
Have wanted a copy for many many years.
Pressing is perfect and so is Miles...

Watched this movie last night - I liked it, much better than the Chet Baker one, if only because from what I can tell it was likely more accurate :)
Anyway, both are pretty enjoyable and have quality music in them!
I want to see something about 'trane now...or maybe some sort of movie about those awesome clubs (Minton's, the Half Note, Vangaurd, etc) in the late 50's/early 60's - now that would be cool...

I watched this 'Miles Ahead' movie on the plane & thought it was great. Could care less if it has anything to do with reality! It was a crazy WTF type of narrative that you don't see very often. Loved it. Don Cheadle delivers perhaps his greatest performance so far.

Even though I watched this on a jetliner I must add that this movie sounds fantabulous. Maybe it was the Mill Street lagers I was swilling, or maybe just maybe it was the Bose noise-cancelling headphones I was wearing, but it was one of the most enjoyable audio events of my life. So be sure to give this flick a good cranking...
