Looks great. Inherent Vice will be a keeper on disc.

Books are usually way better than the movie. Hope you're not too disappointed, Stone.

So Stone, have you seen it yet?

I saw it here in Winnipeg on Saturday. Love Paul Thomas Anderson movies. A little hard to keep track of characters and their associations which I'm sure is somewhat intentional to aid the viewer in seeing through Doc's haze. I definitely need to read the book. Soundtrack is great too. Any time Can and Neil Young are on a movie soundtrack, I'm impressed.

It's not here in The Patch yet...I suspect it'll arrive sometime before the cows start to graze again...but I am soooooooo stoked...I've seen Joaquin interviewed a few times recently...there could not have been a better actor cast as Doc 8)

Yeah, should have mentioned that Joaquin is great as the lead. Good to hear he fits with the book's original vision of him.

I think this reviewer said it best:

"Go with a clear mind and expect to get cloudified in this mystery seriously steeped in the mellow marijuana smoke mixed with the haze of Los Angeles smog. Sex, money and murder. Go with a muddled mind and lie low in your seat and let your mind wander. Either way, you might need to see it more than once; the plots as complicated as a Poirot mystery but the people less well mannered. And yet this isn't a whodunit, but how to do it with ganja, a film 420 noir."
