Hi all,

Watched this over the weekend. I'm not gonna sit here and say this was the best movie ever but WOW! This movie was absoiluely nuts! Kept my attention through the whole 3 hours. Give it a shot if you don't mind sex, drugs and the stock market.

I agree. Watched it 3 times which is unusual for a hollywood movie. I should have just bought the movie. The scene where they OD on "ludes" was hilarious ("Get off the phone!")

Good , not great but a bit long. They could have told the story in a bit less time.

Money, hookers, drugs, yacht - It time for a career change.
Agreed great entertainment for 3 hours, kicks many other marathon movies out the door.
Best ripped scene should have been awarded

The movie could have done with better editing….way too long.

The movie staled in the middle with little to no plot development.

IMHO, the movie could have been a lot better, especially with the quality of the cast.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the superb soundtrack yet! The juxtaposition to what was taking place on screen was fabulous!

I'm somewhere in the middle. The Length didn't phase me, it held my attention. I thought Jonah Hill was outstanding in the supporting role, worth the watch just for that.
Having beautiful girls with gratuitous nudity never hurts a movie. Plus I agree, the OD scene was hilarious.

To qualify, I don't think it is my favourite Martin Scorsese film but that said it's still head and shoulders above most films from the past year. DiCaprio and Hill are great on screen together.

+1

At nearly 3 hours, I'm glad I didn't see it in a theater. But watching at home, IMHO there's no such thing as a Martin Scorsese film that's too long. Period. After seeing Matthew McConaugheys' Oscar-winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club, I think DiCaprio was robbed. Yes, McConaughey was great and it's seemingly easy to play a cad and a scoundrel like DiCaprios' character but Leo, as always, inhabited the role like a second skin. When will this guy get some Oscar love?

Favorite line in the movie: "The cerebral palsy phase."

Needless to say Scorcese is one of the best directors in history but his films can be too long. Even Goodfellas could have be 15 minutes shorter and it wouldn't have taken much from the film, it would still be a classic and one of the best films in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of Raging Bull which is otherwise considered Marty's masterpiece of all his great films. I find the story is as simple, with simple minded charactors Wolf of Wall Street (WOWS) has been made many times in other films. It's a story we have seen time and time again and the charactor is one dimensional, all about money and what that brings.

So considering that most of the 350 odd films that get released in NOrth America, should not have been green lit to begin with, WOWS is a good entertaining film, just about 20 minutes too long. Leo and his top ten models, a soft porn movie with minimal plot (a Scorcese signature).

Thought it was a very good movie for what it was, seen it again many times over in other movies..
But the Lamborghini scene and the teddy bear spy cam were well worth the 3 hours..
Dicaprio and Hill were both Great..

To keep this relevant to CAM, how is the sound quality? :P

Sounded okay to me but TBH I watched in on my 1080i HD TV and not in my HT set up.
