"We got a rabid dog out there and we gotta put it down" spoken by Woody. I saw this in a commercial. What reasonable adult would watch a show that uses that as an advertisement for said show? Does it not sound ridiculous to others or is it just me?

I know eh?...but it seems to me there is no shortage of good actors willing to do 8 episodes of serialized, well written TV now...so I will hope...'cause after all...then came the light :D

Don't know about Stony but Shameless has really upped it's game (once again, the acting is the overall driver). and I have been glued to House of Lies from day one. Cant wait for the next round of Californication...

I’ll never begrudge anyone seeking answers from art, because I’ve done it before and will do it again. But answers can be easy, and they can be hard, and often you’ll find the same answer in something transcendent and something crass. An idea like redemption, for example, may be the end result of both, but one will nourish you and one will leave you with a cloying taste. To me, it’s a mistake to judge a work of art by its answers. More important is whether those answers felt earned.

In other words: How well did it ask the questions?

Yeah, it does sound ridiculous, but then the character, in many ways is ridiculous, for a good part of the first few episodes his little head does most of his thinking. it's very difficult to establish an expectation based on a soundbyte and the people who do trailers go for what they think is maximum effect. Which probably assumes the average viewer has 2 digit IQ. If you ever watched Deadwood, mostly you would think the characters depicted the Ford Brothers having a discussion about Chief Blair. But it wasn't.....

I guess I am just out of my element here. Enjoy whatever it is that this type of TV is called.
