Master and Commander has been my reference disc since it came out. Awesome mix.

I use:

Sherlock Holmes (new one) the shipyard fight scene is great mix of LFE, surround mix and speach.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - LFE, sub 20Hz stuff at a couple of places
Pans Labrynth - great score, lots of creatures buzzing around, even some explosions
Se7en - any scene where they are outside in the rain talking is fantastic for surround mix, and speech intelligablity

As well as some of the previously mentioned titles and a few concert discs.

The second link you posted looks like the Digibook version. Comes with a book built into the case with stuff about the movie, artwork, etc.

To check possible audio/video differences find this number:
ASIN: B000VE4376

Enter the ASIN over here:
http://www.blu-ray.com/
The look at the specs.

Some releases will have different audio and/or video formats.

Thank you! So I ran the ASIN search - the one above vs B004SEUJAA - and yes, the more expensive one is in Digibook packaging. I guess, video and audio are the same (codecs). If that's so, I'll just go for the cheaper one then.

I thought The Mighty Thor looked and sound really good with my HT! Did not care for the movie that much but as far as sound and picture go, it was great!

I think both Kill Bill blu rays offer stunning visuals and surround experience.

A few of my favorite blurays to play loud and enjoy are;
Hanna, a great movie with some of the best LFE
Super 8, the train wreck scene is simply amazing, it's very demanding on my system but it sounds good :D

Last but not least Starwars episode 1; The pod racing scene is just plain amazing, the LFE travels right through the couch

I have an absolute favorite on blu ray for both the music soundtrack and visuals."Suckerpunch" is an incredible experience from beginning to end.
If you have a great HT,you will be blown away. And the girls are awesome 8)

Also, i just picked up "Constantine" on Blu Ray for $8.00.Fantastic story and visual effects.IMO, tops the matrix.

Enjoy :)

Yes, Suckerpunch is an interesting ride for sure, with great AQ and PQ!
The latest Dark Night Rises is reference quality as well.

To give my Oppo 103 a DVD upscaling workout the other night, I watched the Superbit DVD version of the 1962 Lawrence of Arabia. The video was outstanding, the audio was nondescript. I wonder what the newly released bluray version is like - I have read good things about the transfer but have not witnessed it myself - any reviews out there?
