Good topic! I've been wondering what others might have to listen to this time of year.

Not everything that comes to my mind this time of year is "seasonal" music, but for some reason has an uplifting quality that favours good spirits...

Off the top of my head:

>Holly Cole - Baby It's Cold Outside
>Vince Guaraldi - Charlie Brown Christmas - original mix
>ELP - Works 2
>Pavarotti & Friends - For the Children of Bosnia

plus a whole slew of others I can't think of at the moment.

Cheers and Happy listening :D

Glenn

Two of my fave albums for X-mas are

Live at the North Pole - Chris donison, Russ Botten and Rudy Petschauer
A Little Christmas Jazz - George Blondheim

Honorable mention would be
A Charlie Brown Christmas - Vince Guaraldi

And I really want to hear Cyrus Chestnut's version of a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Yeah, the overcommercializing of Christmas has ruined a LOT of perfectly good music for me forever.

Has to be Wizzard - "I wish it could be Christmas every day" (Salvidor Dali on acid)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoxQ4Ul_DME
The band was Roy Wood's creation after The Move and the Electric Light Orchestra.

Due to overexposure of the classics, I can only really tolerate obscure mini-masterpieces like A Surfer's Christmas List by the Surfaris, "I want a surf board 9 foot three" or the Kinks, Father Christmas, "give my daddy a job 'cause he needs one, he's got lots of mouths to feed."
