This seldom heard gem is from the Midnight Cowboy soundtrack although for some strange reason it never appears in the film; composer John Barry at the piano.

This song has been one of my piano demos for evaluating speakers for nearly 30 years...

First off, hats off to the OP because I have discovered a few songs and bands I never knew of here in this thread.
Applause to you.

Now, my contribution .... I have recently really been into JJ Cale and this song I just heard for the first time two weeks ago.

If you crank it and close your eyes, it really hits you.

You're most welcome. I never knew when I made my original post that it would have as many pages as a cable debate. :D

One of my favorite Lowell George tunes from Little Feat's 2nd album. As much as I love their first 5 albums I think they peaked with Sailin' Shoes.

Of all of the Rock 'n Roll greats that have died in the past 30+ years I miss Lowell the most. I think if he could have somehow survived the war with his demons he'd be making some great music today....

Here's on old Jim Croce song. You can almost picture the poor guy in the song pouring his heart out to the operator. Another one that left us far too soon.

Been listening to a lot of The Byrds lately.

I don't think they were given enough credit for their music.

Happy Listening, Craig

Craig I agree with you 100%. Without a doubt one of the greatest bands of the '60s and one of the greatest bands period.

Maybe it has something to do with the destabilizing effect of the 'revolving door' lineup with different members coming and going throughout the bands' history.

One great song deserves another, this one from Sweetheart of the Rodeo.

In honour of Chuck Berry. One of his lesser known songs played by none other than Eric Clapton. From Hail Hail Rock 'N Roll Chuck Berry's 70th Birthday party DVD.
