Typical Roger Waters reminiscent of the Wall years. A good listen overall.

I received the double LP set on release day and listened to it several times this past weekend. The music is something I will enjoy for a long time. It does remind me of The Wall, Animals, Meddle, etc. The lyrics are intentionally depressing, but to some extent reflect the current state of affairs in the world. I recall reading one review that was titled "Comfortably Miserable" which I think sums up this album.

Btw, the album is pricey but I do not regret spending $49. And the vinyl pressing is a very clean--not one pop or trace of surface noise.

IMHO
Musically not bad 5/10 :|
vocals - poor over stretched 3/10 :(
Lyrics - The world according to RW (pass the anti depressants), rants of a late teen revolutionary, stretching for rhymes, seems very contrived just non stop moaning. Worst to date. 1/10

I would certainly recommend listening before buying. I'm glad I did, I have listened to it all the way through twice and 2 hours I wont get back.

Just got this today on cd. Without a doubt Waters is a real miserable pri*k.
While we're on the topic of miserable OLD bastar!s who was the clown that put the lyrics in a microscopic font.
I gave up trying to read them.
Back to the disc. This is Roger Waters, you know what your going to get. Tomorrow I'm listening to it on headphones.
Don't want to miss any bitching buried in the mix.
I'm quite happy with it.

...poor bitter Roger...Floyd carried on without him and maintained massive success...he will never let go of that...literally...or figuratively...

Actually that's not it at all. He was interested in trying to help the world, not jerk it for money.

too many people lie to themselves every day and also look at the hypnotic of what they think comforts them. Ie the idea of life being static and functional.

The reality is that it is not. And it involves change and the best changes almost inevitably originate in a precursor of pain.

The vast majority of people, have no idea whatsoever how bad it really is out there. Looking at a TV or any kind of corporate news (over 95% of it is corporate) is exactly the wrong thing to be doing. The only thing that goes on in that arena is misdirection and the creation and maintenance of impotence. As it was slowly taken over (as the internet is nearing the same condition)... it is a near lethal stupification as injected into humanity - by a parasite. It 'gets away with it' as most people don't have the depth and breadth of thought to see the lay of the land. The side of truth in what is going on has becomes so distant and painful for the masses to reach - in modern times.... that truth tellers get much worse treatment than they did in times of yore.

(and yes, first Gilmour album very highly recommended)

Probably.... as Keanu and I were born on the same day, hours apart. Brother from another mother, kinda thing.

Waters is also of a kind. (Sept 6th IIRC)
