I get most of my silver disc's from the beat goes on. Sure they're used but I've never had a bad one. Plus they sell new stuff and vinyl.

Some time in the mid 90's I was in Cedar Rapids Iowa on business. I picked up the gold MFSL CD of Santana Abraxas for 12.99 in a local mall CD store. I even said to the clerk that it seemed too cheap....he just said "Oh well..."

I think that's the best deal I have ever gotten on a CD.

Tony Bennett ~ Bennett & Basie
Dwight Yoakam ~ Dwight Live
Ten Years After ~ The Essential Collection
Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris ~ Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions
Simon and Garfunkel ~ Greatest Hits
Various Artists ~ Sheffield Drive (Sheffield Lab Audiophile Reference Series)
Led Zeppelin ~ Early Days & Latter Days (2-CD set)
Yes ~ The Ultimate Yes: 35th Anniversary Collection (3-CD set from Rhino)

$5.00 for all 11 discs, courtesy of various Salvation Army thrift stores. In the past 5 months I've scored 16 CDs' for just $7.00 at those stores.

I discovered a brand new SA thrift store this week about 30 minutes north of me. I was astounded to see that they had easily over 2000 CDs' in stock. The store was very cramped and crowded that day so I wasn't able to go through any of them yet. Gonna pack a lunch and pay them a visit again next week. :)

You might want to check out Murfie's. https://www.murfie.com/ You can buy your CD's and either get them shipped, or downloaded Lossless.

+1

I've been buying at Murfie for about a year and have shipped them all my CDs to sell. There are lots of great deals, especially in Classical, with many fine recordings available for $3 or less. A Gold Membership costs $25 and gets you a $1 discount on everything. This morning I bought 5 Classical CDs for $1 each.

When I was in Anchorage, AK in 1989, I had my van broken into. They rifled through my tapes and CD's and didn't take a single one!

That's either reflection of my tastes, or their lack of...

The out-of town SA store I discovered recently sells them for $2.00, just like all of the Goodwill stores. Most SA stores here in Ft. Myers sell them for a buck. But the 8 that you mentioned were on sale for half-price that day.

Found 3 more today. 3 bucks.

Cat Power ~ The Greatest
Oregon ~ Winter Light
Leonard Bernstein/NY Philharmonic/Columbia Symphony Orchestra ~ Gershwin: Rhapsody In Blue/An American In Paris

I know it's not exactly what your asking but...a guy dropped off two hundred LP's, all of them NM. He decided that CD was the way to go and unloaded all his records and bought a bunch of shiny new cd's.
I bought about 30 or 40 of his LP's for bargain prices. Best CD related deal ever.

Dave, that one deserves a prize for the most creative way of going deliberately off-topic while staying on-topic that I have ever seen!!!
