I've been enjoying the new Tori Amos album - "Unrepentant Geraldines". The style is somewhat reminiscent of her early/mid 1990's work (Little Earthquakes/Under the Pink/Boys for Pele era) .

Just checked it out - not much overlap with our CAM nominations, other than the fabulous Lennie Cohen, also U2 and Lana Del Ray IIRC.

I'll give them credit for including Gary Clark Jr. and Sturgill Simpson but the CAM list wins because, unlike RS, we did NOT include Taylor Swift!

And we listen to music on better systems!

These 3 have been blowing my mind. I even put them all in my best sounding top 100 selections out of the thousands of recordings that I own.

Three Bells - Mike Auldridge + Jerry Douglas + Rob Ikes
(3 Dobroists on one recording)

The Toure-Raichel Collective - The Paris Sessions
(Ali Farke Toure's son)

Martin Zeller : Violincello - J.S. Bach Cello Suites Vol. 2
(newest from M.A recordings)

Great taste in tunes, newmusic!

Thanks to your recommendation, I had a quick online listen to Toure-Raichel Collective - The Paris Sessions (new to me but familiar with the elder Toure) and bought it immediately. Has that special sound, musically and sonically. Looking forward to really getting into it tonight. :D

Love Jerry Douglas, just watched a live version of "Gone to Fortingall" - what a song, what a band, country/bluegrass at its finest!

The Bach should be great but I don't have the hardware to play that DVD format. "This item is offered for use in Computer Audio and Hi-End Music Server applications and will not play in standard DVD players, nor CD players."

Cheers for the tips.

Good to know - I was debating whether to pick this on up or not... I liked "Little Earthquakes", but wasn't as impressed with "Night of Hunters" I picked up a while ago... Maybe I'll grab his one.

Prog reunion (and such):

GONG - I SEE YOU (yes! return to pure 70s Gong, most are origional members
STRAWBS (even though all re-hashed material .... yes!)
COLOSSEUM (no. exceptional musicianship but the style has become something different.)

And, of course, all the Italian prog reunions were strong ones.
