Some thrift store finds.

John Scofield with MM&W - A Go Go. 1998.
Medeski, Martin & Wood - Combustication. 1998.
Herbis Hangcock - Gershwin's World. (date - ?. The CD is in my car )
Gitanillos de Cai - Sus Cantes por el Mundo. 2007. (Some deep rooted flamenco. )

Not bad for $12.00.

I picked up an amazing new release from Rhino records today.
From the vault.
Grateful Dead - Sunshine Daydream, The Springfield Creamery Benefit, Veneta Oregon, August 27, 1972.
The complete show, all three sets on 3 HDCD's and 1 DVD of the show.
The most sot after Dead show of the 1970's, some would say the "ne plus ultra" of the collections.
Months of mixing and mastering by Jeffery Norman from the master 16 track analog tapes.

A must have for all Grateful Dead fans.

Four recent pick-ups from the Sally Ann...each $2.
In audiophile-world, "one of these kids is doing his own thing..." (I'll let you figure out which one that is! )

1.1979 Telarc Tchaikovsky 1812/Capriccio Italien/Cossack Dance
Sometimes the smallest find feels like the biggest score--I've been keeping my eye out for this one for quite some time!

2.Reference Recordings Eiji Oue and the Minnesota Orchestra: Stravinsky--(see image)
This is a 24-bit HDCD disc. My dac does hdcd, but is limited to 20bits. So will be interesting to see how the dac handles it. (These purchases are so recent, they haven't made it into my listening room yet...)

3. Chesky Records Bruce Dunlap: About Home
For $2, I bought this one on spec, having never heard of Bruce Dunlap. I am very familiar with the Chesky reputation and you just gotta appreciate "Recorded using minimalist miking techniques without overdubbing or artificial enhancement to ensure the purest and most natural sound possible." (back cover)

4. ACDC--Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Had this on cassette, pretty sure  I never replaced it on CD! This falls under 'blast from the past' category, and at this point, I wouldn't bother buying it at retail. But for $2?

I just picked up a gem of a 2 CD/Blu Ray set. I purchased it from HMV and the salesperson even gave me a $4.00 discount as the separate CD set and single Blu Ray were actually cheaper to buy separately.

All My Friends, Celebrating the Songs and Voice of Gregg Allman. A live concert from the Fox Theatre, Atlanta GA. Jan. 10th, 2014.
Check out the list of artists that join the Allman Brothers for this All-Star show.

Going to spin the first CD disc now. 8)
