However from my experience the 2 terms are very often used interchangeably.


I admit to being guilty of this myself, but I don't think it's a big deal if the context is understood. There is such a thing as AC resistance but it's only one component grouped into the AC impedance complex, one which may not involve the others. It gets complicated real fast lol. I do think though, that the term impedance is more commonly used, and since we're usually discussing AC it's not a big deal.
