I am hoping someone will be able to help me with the issue I am having with my cd player.

If I put a disc in and press "play" the player will play the cd but it is like it's fast forwarding and skipping songs. When I lift the front of the unit up about 1-2" so it's tilted it plays fine. It plays perfect with the tilt and I'm not sure why or what is out of alignment. I would like to be able to have it play when it is sitting flat. Does anyone have any ideas on what this issue is, and if it is an easy fix or do I have to take it in for servicing? I have already cleaned the lens and the rail.

It sounds like the tray loading belt is getting loose. Try replacing it and see if that helps. I had a Nakamichi player that would only play upside down, and that was the problem. If you can do the repair yourself, it will be cheap to do.

If you can use one of those newfangled Internets, you can post photos in your damn classified ads.

Personally, I'd like to know how you noticed it only played upside down. Up till now that hasn't been part of my fault finding procedure.

I thought it might have been a bit too subtle for you.

Thanks. Does anyone happen to know the numbers of the replacement belts? Haven't been able to find the numbers or a service manual so I can get the numbers.
