I'm using my AudioLab as a DAC and my pre amp feeding my TBA 2A amp and Nola Boxer speakers
My question is do you think the AudioLab would be consider a decent DAC and pre amp, Or would the pre amp maybe be the weak link of this set up
I know I don't have a high end system I would just like to know if everything is working together decently

Thanks for any advice

The Audiolab 8200CD is an incredible CD player and DAC, that is quite dynamic and really hard to beat at that price. As a preamp though... let's just say the 8200CDQ serves that purpose better and the 8200CD used as a preamp would definitely be your weak link from my experience. I had both of them and really liked them! I sometimes wish I had kept the 8200CDQ, as it is quite versatile! My only complaint about these two amazing products would be their long term reliability. The hi-fi store here stopped selling Audiolab products because of that, which is unfortunate, because it is such a great bang for the buck!
