Hi all

I have 3 KEF ls50s for L-C-R channels - a couple of less ambitious rears to come. Emotiva bass s8 sub. 5.1 channel home theater and music (70/30). Moderate volumes...lovely townhouse, lovely wife and lovely neighbors.

I do not have a lot of rack space so separates are difficult to figure out here but as many know, the ls50's are not efficient and often dip below 4ohm.

Can anyone recommend a HT receiver for my situation? Anthem, NAD, Marantz...just not sure where I'll be safest.

Many thanks in advance

Are they in a large, medium or small room?

That will make a pretty big difference on how much power you need.

I have a pair of LS50's in a fairly small (15' x 12') bonus room and I powered them for a week or two with my Anthem MRX-300 receiver after we moved into our new house before the separates were unpacked. They sounded great and it had no issues at all powering the pair of LS50's.

If you're in a large room, you're going to be looking for a receiver that is a little more powerful.

Thanks for your response.
Room is about 13x15 - but open to a dining room area.
Seating distance is 10ft.

I can get a deal for a nad t777v3 for the same price as an Anthem 720.
The only separates that would fit into my stand space would be the emotive stuff (mc700+a700) but my research tells me they may not be any better than the nad or anthem.
My budget is 3k...thanks again, open to any suggestions

Life would be a lot easier for you if you used a Kef R or Q series speaker for the centre channel. Could I ask why you chose LS50 if you are primarily interested in HT?

Ha! You're telling me.
I had a deal I simply couldn't refuse for the 3.
I loved the powered version which of course is very difficult to replicate without 20 inches of cabinet space.
I'm a video guy. Just bought a new very large very expensive video setup and want to do it justice on the audio side.
