Drago just refurbed my original Marantz 1550 receiver...and it sounds sooo good! The new LEDs are so much better than original bulbs....but I digress.....What we could not repair was the tuning meter....it is stuck in the middle and is seized up (kinda like my back)....so I am in the market for a meter specific to this model. I will place a "wanted" ad, but does anyone know a Marantz kinda guy with lots of parts?

Thanks folks.

wait...are you talking about the tuning capacitor?

experienced this once...not Marantz but if brass bushing frozen to tuning shaft with some penetrating oil and patience it can be freed.

I think he's talking about the actual 'meter'

This guy on ebay tends to have a s--t-ton of parts. I've bought from him multiple times.

Search ebay ca for seller marantzparts. He is a shop in Toronto.

If you don't get a hit, he has 2 other stores on ebay... Stereoparts and sahand0.
Also has his own website. If not on one of these, just ask.

GOT IT!!!

Wow, you folks are awesome! The only thing that could not be fixed, cleaned, adjusted or replaced was the actual meter. A replacement is on its way....so I can put my OCD to rest!

Again, thanks!

Blinky and the rest; THANKS so much for the responses. Blinky gives me the contact info for AW Electronics. I email them immediately. Get a response with the correct part within half an hour. In 90 minutes I had placed the order for a part that is 39 years old....a day later the part is in my hands. Wow. Just. Wow!!

Again, CAM members come through for me. Thanks all. And a shout out to AW Electronics.
