Hello, this is my 3rd post but it doesn't seem to show up in the forum. If someone can assist me with this issue it would be much appreciated.
My issue is I would like to send my Marantz 2325 out for a good TLC look over. Can someone suggest anyone in the Kitchener, Cambridge or Toronto area?

D'n A Electronics rebuilt my 2285b about 3 or 4 years ago and did a great job and they are in Kitchener. http://www.dnaelectronics.ca/restorations/marantz_2325_restoration/marantz_2325_restoration.html

Have you considered taking your unit to an authorized Marantz service center ?

Well, for one thing, the Marantz company you linked to has nothing to do with the Marantz company who manufactured the 2325 back in the 1970s; that company having gone through several different owners since then, each subsequent owner abandoning support for the preceding owners products. Only the brand name changed hands; not the responsibility for past products. So, in a sense, there is no such thing as an authorized service center for these vintage products.

Ontario Audio Video on Steeles Ave in Brampton is an authorized Marantz service center.

I have used them many times.

Just be persistent about your turn around time.

People that know what they are doing have no shortage of work.

Also be sure to state exactly what you want done. It won't get a complete re-cap unless you ask for a complete re-cap. It will be repaired, but only as required otherwise.

I'd second Syd Beaumont at Ideal Innovations. He's done a few jobs for me. Quality work.
You might also try The Nostalgia Co. in London they are a relatively new place, there's a thread on CAM about the shop.
No personal experience with them.

There is also Advanced Electronics in London, an authorized Marantz repair centre, but as OBI mentioned there is a BIG difference between the vintage Marantz components and today's stuff.
FWIW,they repaired my Marantz NR 1403 H/T receiver in jig time.

Hi CrazyJoeDavola,
What a fantastic stack of equipment!!! Love it!

I'll second Syd. He's a straight shooter and a clean technician.

hi guys! My Marantz SR 7008 has developed an intermittent sound drop out in the left channel. Sometimes all i have to do is touch the back of it and is "fixed" temporarily. I read some Marantz forums and several people report the same issue with the SR line...Some have traced it to a loose contact inside the speaker binding post - and if this is the case I don't know how to fix it myself.
My SR7008 is out of warranty of course...I was planning to upgrade to a SR7011 but in the AVS forum some people also report this issue after a couple of years of owning the units...
I don't want to take the unit to "the authorized" Marantz centres-I live in Downtown Toronto and without a car, I can't make it to their locations in Brampton etc..
any reliable repair centre in Toronto that can fix this issue? Pretty pls...
thanks

Erick

Hi Eric,
Consider mailing your equipment as an option, or beg a ride from a friend. Use someone who is known for clean audio service! It can literally be the difference between having to replace the equipment and having it working properly again. There are enough hacks out there that destroy your gear.

Rick at Ontario Audio is a clean shop, but he is busy as heck. I would mention some destructive hacks, but I'd probably get in trouble for that.
