Hello to everyone! I just picked up my first set up today and have a question about my receiver. I have a noresco quadrasound 2560 receiver. Everything seems to work fine but the lights. The tuner lights work when switched to fm or am but turn off when switched to phono or other. My question is, is that normal? I am having a hard time to get info on this receiver. I understand it might of been made by Rotel. I just want to know if any light should be on when its switched to phono or not. Thanks in advance.

I seem to remember a few different brands in the day that only lit the tuner dial when AM or FM was selected, so this is probably normal. Could you post a couple of pictures of the front and the back to help identify the equivalent rebranded model?

Hi Dub-K113,
That is absolutely normal. Don't worry.

Most Noresco electronics were made in Toronto. They are out of business now. If it was made by another manufacturer, I'd be surprised, but anything is possible. The circuitry should be straightforward, but quad units are more difficult to work on just because there is a lot more stuff jammed in there.

The older Noresco receivers I have seen say "Made for Noresco in Japan"

Cool, the ones I've seen were made in Toronto. Inexpensive things, so maybe they switched to OEMs later on.
