Hi alexander_x,
I'm glad you have your problem sorted out.

There is one thing that I didn't see suggested. Have your tuner aligned. Might also help with cable, but this is going to be trial and error. So if you run into a situation where you can't use cable, or you really want off air, follow the recommendations for the magnum and good antenna, and also - have your tuner aligned.

Good to see you back with us, Chris!

Not many techs have the equipment and experience to perform tuner alignments. Are you still open to working on my Marantz 150 tuner? :D

Glenn

Hi Glen,
Yes, no problem. Let me know when you might be ready to do that. I can also go through the MPX and audio section to improve the sound quality. The 150 is a really nice tuner. All my contact information is the same. If you need it again, please just PM me and I'll send it. That goes for anyone who wants service, just PM me.

I've been able to get my hands on more / better equipment as well. That, and I can match crystal filters with a jig I built a while ago. I use a network analyser to match them. I still have my spectrum analyser that's really good for this also.

PM sent, Chris.

Yes, the Marantz was never a reception champ that could pull in a lot of stations, but boy, did it sound good....much better than the MD-FT101 I replaced it with.

Hi Glenn,
It's still a nice tuner. The modern ceramic filters are lower loss, so changing those with a matched set will increase your sensitivity. We'll do that too if you want.

PM responded too.
