I was recently introduced to a German funk band, The Poets of Rhythm. Depending on what kind of dance music you are looking for, you may wish to check them out:

Probably won’t find many in agreement but I love Kate Bush’s version of Rocket Man.

Very subjective but I’ll play. To me, a Masterpiece stands the test of time. Just as enjoyable as the day you first heard it. This is my personal Masterpiece list: 1. Wheat Kings 2. Bobcaygeon 3. Kashmir 4. Rapper’s Delight 5. Burning Down The House 6. Old Man 7. The Koln Concert - Part 1 8. Dance t...

I was at a record show this weekend in Toronto. I was there for about 2 hours. I noticed all the vendors but one looked over 50 years of age. Only 2 vendors had women with them. Only 2 women for customers. All the other customers looked over 40 years old but a few younger. It is kind of weird, isn’...

I have two separate systems in the same room. The room is a dedicated basement HT that I built out 13 years ago when the kids were little. I have a 110 inch acousticslly transparent screen with the fronts and centre and sub tucked behind and I upgraded the projector a couple of years ago to the firs...

The goal of a stereo system is, for me, emotional connection with the music. It actually isn’t important how you get there because the threshold is different for everyone as are the triggers. It depends on how you are wired. When you can get lost in the music, forgetting about all the flotsam and je...

I think it is a terrific list. Lots of good ideas there for me to investigate. There will always be omissions - how could there not be - but there are some really interesting artists included.

I’d probably include Feist, India Arie, Tracy Chapman, and Bananarama. But that’s just me.

I wonder how much this has to do with a company’s supply chain sophistication. For example, I don’t care if my Naim amp arrived via plane or ship but I do know which is more expensive. Of course, air freight is more advantageous for the company as it takes less time and thus reduces working capital ...

I’ve got a friend that wants to get her husband a turntable for Xmas. Can someone recommend a good retailer in the Burl / Oakville / Hamilton region? Maybe try Fairview Electronics in Burlington. I assume your friend doesn’t want to spend thousands, in which case Fairview is a good place to start. ...

I hear ya. But if you do a bit of digging, I think you will find that companies like Tesla don’t accept bitcoins dirctly. There is a tranaction service in the middle that accepts the volatility. This one made me chuckle: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6v7oiq/today_i_used_my_bitcoins_to_bu...
