Picked up a pair for $400 at a local hi-fi shop. For $400 new they sound damn good!

HDMI doesn’t care what the resolution is as long as the digital information being passed is within it’s capable bandwidth. A 8 bit signal that is 3840 x 2160 in resolution (4K) at 24 frames per second is ~ 5.97 Gbps. The same 8 bit signal at 1920 x 1080 (regular HD) at 100 frames per second is ~ 6....

Anyone tried switching a 4k signal through an older hdmi HT receiver? I have heard that as long as you can get both components to handshake its not a problem. Others say it will absolutely not work...
Anyone Tried it? Just curious....

Just did the test and scored 6/6. You can tell the difference especially when picking out the drums/cymbols. The difference in clarity is night and day. Wife says no to book shelf speakers... apparently its bad parenting if your kid knocks them over and receives a concussion... what a tight butt :-P
