Follow up on the Terminator.... Approximately 10 days of running-in for 24 hours non stop have significant improvement on the sound. This DAC is so smooth and transparent that you totally forgot about the equipment and just enjoy the music. Although it is a very well balanced DAC, certain things it...

Has anyone heard the Neat Ultimatum XLS'? I wonder how they'd compare to the likes of Dynaudio, or other models mentioned in this thread.

You could have saved me a first negative feedback  Have you listened to the KEF R300? I heard them on entry level Cambridge gear and I thought they were very accomplished for the price point. I'd like to hear them on a better setup. If ever you pass through the interior feel free to drop me a ...

Thanks for sharing your initial impressions of the Special Forty, James. At a rough glance, would you say it sits somewhere between the Focal sound, and the pre-Element Totem upper-end stuff? I used to have the 20th anniversary 'The One' model from Totem, and it did a lot of things very well. I only...

Well, my point was I will not be using any tubes. So I'm not interested in reading post after post on some guy's impression of a red RCA tube. I want to hear about the sound qualities of the jfet mode, that's all I'm interested in, I'll probably have to buy one to find out! I totally hear where you...

I'd like to hear their (his) Impact Monitor. That's good to know that you're happy with your Pendragons.

I wonder if there's any more news about these Signature Ones.

Those Audiovectors James mentioned look intriguing. I recently discovered Funk Audio's 6.1P. Also, Dynaudio's Special Forty look interesting as well. So many choices/compromises.

Well Schiit, I just ordered a Freya and Yggdrasil today. Totally couldn't really afford to buy them right now, but very much excited to try them both out. Congratulations!!! ...how I wish you were located in Edmonton haha! :D Haha, you and me both. Vancouver is the most overrated, insular, expensiv...

On SBAF and Head-Fi, Schiit gets hyped like it's the second coming of Christ. Don't get me wrong, I have two pieces of their higher-end headphone pieces (Gungir Multi-Bit DAC and Mjolnir 2) that I enjoy and quite intrigued by their 2.0 gear coming up - especially their power amp which appears to be...

Thanks for your impressions, hawkeye. Someone ought to do a shootout between the Freya and some high end (expensive) preamps. I'd like to eventually do just that. In the meantime, most of what I've read on Head-Fi or Superbestaudiofriends involves individuals discussing how great it is on paper, how...
