This preamp is a tribute to a factory machine...4580 is a cheap opamp, but it suits here...and is widely used in factory machines.
Spec-wise there will always be better specs parts...

Thanks Gents...those 2 holes for DC inlet are not round holes, have to use a file-- 20 May 2018 01:43 -- I am running DIY Open Baffle. Visaton B200 and Eminence Alpha 15. Crossover is at 250HZ. Tweeter is Vifa D27TG-35 with back removed, 1uF cap. The monoblocks run the top end and the second Amp run...

1000uf negative feedback cap used NCC SMG for now, it's "critical" for the sound, will try other caps later...

I just noticed they are now up to ACA 1.6 and they are now taking orders for July delivery. Looks like a spectacular piece of kit! It's diyaudio ACA kit 1.6...not ACA 1.6 (ACA is Pass's design)...there is a difference;-) ------ Let's play some Aluminum Oxide Ceramic (1mm thick)...a bit overkill her...

The first photo shows how I normally bend the parts' legs...around 45 degree toward each other...

-Stuffed from low to high...resistors first...
-Need some time look at the schematic, and find the "right" caps...

Aside from you guys discussing technical stuffs... One thing (or headache) about DIY is the chassis, especially for power amps - normally heavy, crazy shipping fee...and tax if you were Canadian... Also, we are striving to make our DIY machines look "serious" or "pretty" like a f...
