Pass it on!

Not sure what your intent is for these decks, but personally none of them would be worth the time and expense to get them going again. You should be able to literally replace them for about the same cost as the replacement belts (you almost couldn’t give those decks away these days). If you decide t...

Personally I think every interaction around a transaction is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all response - there are many different ways of asking ‘what’s your best price', some of which deserve a polite answer more than others. That being said, members who regularly resort to tactics that don...

This suggestion has been floated several times over the years, but ultimately it's never been adopted for whatever reason. It seems to me that there is an appetite for such a feature (especially among those in far-flung regions), however not much impetus since the majority of CAM's users are located...

Personally Id look for a higher grade of speaker model or brand. $40 wasted. Sorry to say OP, but I agree with alboettcher - you should be able to find a pair of good-quality, fully-working speakers for that price in Ottawa with a little time spent searching. The thing with the local market (in my ...

Thanks, but I’m definitely logged in. Since there are still no satisfactory answers for my issue, I’ve found another way to view ads from my Followed Members, so for anyone else experiencing the same issue: click on your user name at the top of the classifieds list, then click on 'Ads from Followed ...

Thanks for the replies;

It’s not there for me. Maybe because of the view options I’m using? I browse Home->Classifieds->All Hardware, filtered to 'Regular Member Ads'. All I see below the main classifieds list is an 'Ads From Other AudioMarts' list.

On iPad Air 2, Safari, latest iOS.

Is there any interest from other members and/or staff/contributors in making ads in the classified lists somehow appear differently when they are posted by users we follow? I regularly 'Follow' users who are in my local area, but in order to view ads from those people, I have to go to my User Panel ...

The only truly terrible retail experience I’ve ever had was at the Space-Tech store: it was years ago when I was just starting in this hobby, and the owner ripped me off by charging about triple the going rate for several used items I bought from him (none of which had prices displayed at the time)....

I hope I’m wrong, but it sounds to me like the tonearm bearings are binding, meaning a new (or replacement) tonearm is likely in order. Not at all uncommon on 1200s that have been DJed. The proof for me was where you said that loosening the top adjustment nut on the tonearm caused it to 'work'. That...

I believe I'm familiar with the OP, and if I'm not mistaken he owns a second-hand shop in Vancouver, which is mainly audio-focused. If I am mistaken, my apologies to the OP for making that statement and assumption... But if I'm right, IMHO that adds another dimension to this discussion, and could ta...

trentcanuck, does your workplace sell audio equipment? I ask because it's fairly well-known (at least among enthusiasts I've met) that Martin-Logan speakers present a very hard load to many amps, particularly those that aren't high-current designs. Maybe this is something you or your workmates could...

Personally I come down on the side of the folks saying a seller shouldn't feel obliged to leave feedback simply because an item has been paid for - there's still a lot that can happen between that point and the buyer declaring themselves satisfied with a transaction. And in that vein, I feel CAM cou...
