There is another thing that leads me to have a special place in my heart for Blue Jeans Cable. That is their skirmish with Monster in 2008, when Monster was on a mission to claim ownership of the word 'Monster', and also making frivolous claims and threatening lawsuits on other companies who they ac...

Well, you guys can argue all day about their interconnects and digital cable, but that's not their 'strong suit'. The one cable of really good quality that they have is their BJC Belden Series-1 Bonded-Pair HDMI/DVI Cables. Those were the ONLY hdmi cables that are not made in China when I started b...

I complained to Admin about this "Banned" issue years ago, and nothing ever happened. I had two identities on Canuck for awhile, one for my friend's store to sell his consignment gear, and one for myself. When the economy killed-off the store, I just adapted the second identity for myself,...

" No experience with the $3k integrated Yamaha amplifier that was used to demo the speakers in question - but I would say that it is far from a cheap mass market receiver. Check out the link the OP provided on the Yamaha A-S1100 " No...I was talking about the much cheaper receiver that the...

loose the Yamaha. https://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio_visual/hifi_components/a-s1100_g/index.html This is the unit I heard the Totems with, not my home unit. I don't think this piece is the problem. Furthermore, I listened to 5 or 6 other sets of speakers in the same room, same time, same source ...

If you just got the amp back, you haven't truly heard it yet. Those new caps will take a long time to burn-in properly, even 100 to 200 hours.
It's going to sound a lot better after some playing time.

I think that the 'high current amp' designation is meant to describe amps that are capable of driving low impedance speakers. That need was more common in the 70's with some speakers that were harder to drive drive. Speaker designers tend to avoid that sort of thing nowadays. "Headroom" wa...

There are so many that I didn't know where to start.
So I went to Google and typed-in "most Dramatic classical records" and there are lots of good ideas there, including lists of top 50 Classical titles, etc.

Mathuse,
I know someone who has a lot of Quad 57 gear stored in a locker, including frames, screens, panels (both working and not working) miscellaneous parts and......the proper feet. He's talking about getting rid of all of it, cheap. If you're interested, PM me.

The other thing I found is be very careful about wording your questions and vetting responses to ensure you are dealing with someone who has ACTUAL experience and not requoting some tired old trope from the internet. This accounts for more than half of the comments I read online and an even higher ...

Some people here are talking about how people perceive sound and how you and your ears should be the judge, etc.....but the O.P. didn't even ask about good sound. He asked how to find or spot an "expert". That could be about anything on the subject of Audio, not just sound. A lot of the op...

Canuck ads never die. You should be able to send them the original link for the ad. Then they can click on the link, get to the ad and leave feedback whether it is expired or not. (unless CAM changed things and doesn't allow it)
That or they can leave you generic feedback not related to the ad...?
