RIP. I was lucky enough to have seen them 3 times and I had a friend going to a show with us for the first time. He asked me what to expect. I told him that it was hard to explain as you had to be there to experience it. After the show when I asked what he thought he said " Give me a couple of ...

I would look for a good used EAR 834. If you find one at a good price you could keep it for a year or so and sell for close to what you paid. Great company and a very reliable , good sounding unit.

My 2 cents - If you are thinking RP1 or P1 and wants new you are close to getting a P2 which is a huge leap above the P1. The P1 uses the RB110 arm which is an alloy tube fitted with a plastic head shell while the P2 gets the one piece RB220 arm , P1 has a phenolic platter , P2 Glass The P2also has ...

Saw them back to back nights at the Crazy Horse in Dartmouth back in 1988 and thought they were great now. Gord and the Band are true Canadians that never sold out. A huge lose for music and Canada. RIP.

If we ship very expensive and or large panels / speakers I use a freight company and we strap the speakers to a pallet. To damage something on a pallet takes a lot of effort. Other than that most carriers I have used in Canada have been close to the same ( worst ever was UPS when shipping to South E...

Just wanted to say thank you to Danielle and Canuckaudiomart for supporting my Ride For Cancer. This year I am taking part in The Ride For Cancer to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and the QE2 hospital. I have set a goal of $10,000 to collect and I am at $6985 now plus I ...

I am raising money for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and the QEII hospital to continue the fight against cancer. The ride itself takes place on Sept. 30th and I will be doing my part earlier in the week riding up Mauna Kea ( or at least attempting it) a dormant volcano on the Island of...

We run our SF's with Hegel and Naim for SS gear ( not a world of difference with them and Arcam) and the pairings work very well and we have taken B&W on trade towards themas well as against Spendor. Is your room heavily damped or open and lively? Lots of glass or hardwood / ceramic etc? I have ...

We used a 400A ( albeit rebuilt by our tech - William Boucher) to run our Soltanus Electrostats 2 years ago in Montreal and garnered several best sound of show accolades. The amp once rebuilt was better in every way from the original but nothing of the circuit was changed. He has since rebuilt 2 Sta...

Your earlier statement would fit in nicely here: audiophile wanna be's with tin ears who seek to impress their friends by buying large ugly furniture . It all ends up the same way eventually, in the land fills. These are the Edsels of the audiophile world. Personnaly I would have to hear hem for mys...

I only gave my experience from what i have seen. I have not tried selling anything. If the forums were used only to help each other out and not to get people arguing there wiuld be a lot less getting off topic. I do stand by my 3 groups.
