I guess this is the right place to post this. I have the opportunity to pick up a pair of SD R-818s in good condition on a trade deal for a set of studio monitors I use on my desk. I am using a pair of klipsch KG4's with the Crites upgrades for my 2 channel listening. Does anyone hear have experienc...

Well that explains it better, thanks Syncytial. My situation is a little different in that I design my own music widgets for my computer. It's not a matter of just using CBC's own site to stream music, it's that I want the playable urls so I can input them in my own designs. I can find plenty of ra...

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? These work http://www.cbc.ca/radio/includes/stream.html but they are not the music urls for the specific music genres found here... https://www.cbcmusic.ca/ There is suppose to be a way to get music urls from inspecting elements or using software such as URL...

Beautiful speakers, you did a great job on them... Thank you moinau, I appreciate the comment.-- 31 Oct 2017 17:21 -- The speakers are finished and sound awesome. Don't laugh at these Hitachi's, they actually got these speakers right, at least to my ears. I had to be a bit imaginative to fit the la...

The speakers are finished and sound awesome. Don't laugh at these Hitachi's, they actually got these speakers right, at least to my ears. I had to be a bit imaginative to fit the large film caps. For most I had to extend the leads and stand them on end. I think upgrading the resistors helped too.

I would think so, it says uf at the top so the 47uf cap is reading 52.6uf. The reading for the 5600k on the same setting does not display the uf symbol, it only has the n f symbols so I was wondering if that is a 5.6nf cap and not a 5.6uf cap or is there even such a thing? could explain why my other...

Yes, at this point that would be the astute thing to do. The chances of those capacitors being shorted out are slim and none. That said: those capacitors are not a required part of the crossovers transfer function anyway. The crossover will function just the same without them.[/quote] So what are th...

OK, so I found my other meter and took a measurement and I got this. Does the n f on the top of the digits mean NANOFARADS? Yes - that is measuring 5.6 nF ( 5.6 x 10^-9 F) Which is a bit strange because pF is usually a base. So if 470 is written on a ceramic cap, that would indicate 470 pF. If you ...

This is a measurement of a 47uf cap on the same setting. IS that reading measured on the capacitance scale??? I would think so, it says uf at the top so the 47uf cap is reading 52.6uf. UPDATE: so I finally took a measurement on the cap from the other crossover and it is definitely not a 5.6uf cap. Here is 2 photos, one measuring a cap to show my meter is measuring correctly and the other is with the 5600k cap (or whatever it is) showing I cannot get a reading on it. I don't know ...

"maybe meter on the wrong scale. but my meter will show overlimit when measuring something on a too low scale. if it measure 0 maybe the cap is shorted." I tried every range but mine has an auto setting too and none of them shows a reading. It should not be shorted because it came from a w...

I just fixed a paisley 3 way speaker last week, and the mid range add 3x 2200 uf 25 volt and one 1000 uf 25 v. POLARIZED capacitor, so yes it could be a 5600uf cap you have there. Are you referring to my cap? if so I hope not because I ordered 5.6uf caps on the advice of other members and if it is ...
