Another option for you is I have found great success with two way standmounts. They interact less with the room and although it isn’t a giant presentation, they can image extremely well and can have amazing separation of instruments. What happened to the wonderful bookshelf speakers complete with s...

So a few people on this forum have wisely made the suggestion and I've listened... upgrading my good standmount speakers to something better will make the most dramatic impact in my system. I go to the symphony often and that has inspired me to rethink my speaker situation and look at larger floors...

Classical does not generally require amazing bass extension. My experience is that speakers with low frequency extension tend to sound awful for orchestral music, too much bass man! +1 Very useful piece of information. Listening preferences by instrument can help determine low end extension needs. ...

True true I was not privy to that release info.... the last big box I bought was dedicated to Dieter FD, and I don't speak German; every so often I will get wind of something like a Japanese pressing of Karajan and a Shostakovich, and think, Poor bugger, the site only allows him to charge $3.49 S&am...

Don't understand the point of the discussion: why not just acknowledge Lennie was a masterful composer; superb interpreter of others' music, and with a style and personality than was unique and quite the equal of his transatlantic peer Karajan? why not suggest other musicians worthy of his place in ...

I would recommend the Copland 405 tube integrated; one has been listed and then "Offed" - its asking price was $1995: 50 a side; fantastic phono stage, and remote weighing somewhere around 20-25 kgs boxed.

I was despairing that this website lacked members who listen to and collect classical music. I have been pleased with Presto's offerings and haven't been concerned over lengthy wait and shipping times. I have yet to download flac files or anything more sophisticated, though I have wondered about las...

I have bought and sold two YBA HCDT power amps, and one YBA 2 preamp; for quite some time, I partnered one of those YBA 2 HCDT power amps with a line version of the YBA 3 preamp - because it had the remote. I was quite satisfied; and money doesn't grow on trees, so the $1500 differential between the...

Talk to Tash of Divergent Technologies; perhaps something in the Reference 3A lineup will work well with that particular amp, cheers Simon in Victoria

Try one of the newer YBA integrated such as the Passion 350 (or take a look at the current YBA power and preamp listing on this site). 8)

Years ago I bought my first all zone all region blu ray player from an online seller who has since closed its doors - somewhere I found my invoice and it was less than $60 US to deliver a Momitsu 899 BDP... and I do not remember paying any customs/duty... However I cannot find this BDP anywhere in m...
