I fill my stands with epoxy coated aquarium gravel. It's reasonably heavy, compacts well, doesn't scratch, and doesn't ring. There are no concerns regarding dust or moisture (or decomposition), and if you don't like it, it's easily reversible.

I usually audition or evaluate with the Kertesz/VPO Mozart Requiem on London. It's a mid-60's recording, so not the last word in high fidelity, but I know every wart and pimple. I've heard it on every system I've had going back longer than I'd care to admit. I also enjoy it immensely, it's my benchm...

He has the right idea... Don't know what the chair is, but the loudspeaker is the classic JBL L100: http://www.vintage-speaker-review.com/2012/02/jbl-l-100.html That's Le Corbusier's Fauteuil grand confort, petit modèle. Usually referred to as the "LC-2" or "Petit confort."
