In a sense I am a dealer, I sell new and used LPS & CDS, some vintage stuff and a bit of new. Which technology do I embrace? Analogue to me sounds the best but 70% of my listening is CD due to convenience. I have probably 600 CDs and many more LPs in my personal collection and have no thoughts o...

Should have checked to see where you live. If in Ontario, try Ontario Audio Video on Steeles Ave W in Brampton. Have recommended these folks to tons of friends and they were all very happy with the results.

I am responding to the post re: vinyl and old technology. You have one old table TD 124 and one fairly new. Are you telling me that the Thorens sounds as good as the Rega. It all depends doesn't it - arm /cartridge combos. I set up a very old Thorens,(think is was a TD 124 with Thorens arm) sounded ...

In my humble opinion, a bent stylus is probably one of the most serious issues to contend with. Regardless of how you set it up, the stylus will always be tracking at the wrong angle in the groove and will - for sure - damage vinyl.

You are quite right, vinyl is an old technology. So is the car and I don't think that anyone will say vintage automobiles are better than today's product. Cutting heads have changed, as have the structures of the phono cartridge and tone arms. Enormous work has been done on tonearm geometry, precisi...

Good to see vinyl alive and well. would it be ok to add a few tips about the Spin Clean. My friends and I have used this device for over 3 years and swear by it - not at it as a few of you folks are. I use on both used and new vinyl and found that it works wonders. There are a few tricks that we've ...

I am surprised at the folks who are purchasing "vintage cartridges". As a long time audio guy, I have learned that regardless of the brand and quality of cartridge, Vintage cartridges simply have too many issues that you won't find out about until you have damaged vinyl. What am I talking ...

Not sure who is aware of this but there is a great Live Blues Venue in Barrie Called Violet's Venue. This venue has been open for almost one year and hosts the likes of Samantha Fish, Johnny Winter before he passed, Roy Rogers (Blues/Slide guitar) Powder blues and Chris Duarte - that crazy Texan Gui...
