Bob Dylan's Desire 45pm MOFI.

This album neeeeeeeded to be on two discs originally and MoFi gave it an excellent treatment.

Such a great pressing.

Thought the loading would be fixed. 4 wires on each transformer. 2 in 2 out. Perhaps these are "Jensen" transformers then? Maybe knock offs. I'm not entirely sure as I can't really identify them. And it definitely doesn't have a faraday cage of any sort. Would one be able to make something...

So what I did was use the ground post (holes not drilled in photo) and tied the two - outside leads to this. I left the - on the input side as it is probably just grounded to the case through the RCA plugs.

Seems to be fine.

Ahh yes, I thought I'd run out of characters and shortened it up...

I think what I need to do is use the ground post perhaps...

Hey guys, Quick question for the collective. I've had this step up for a while, all soldered up but temporarily having the wiring hanging out of the casing. So, I decided to finally drill some holes and get the RCAs and ground lug etc put in. But, I felt it was fairly quiet as is. Got the RCAs put i...

It's a tough one. I really really enjoy the sound of many new LPs. But, you don't know what you are getting until you buy it and give a listen. I'll get mostly any of the harder to find stuff on reissue as long as it's a somewhat reputable pressing. One thing I've found, though, is turntable setup i...

This is one hell of a nice upgrade! I am thoroughly jealous! If only my main unit was as good as this one.

I have been contemplating selling my Rega RP-3 with GT Subplatter, Kerry titanium weight and a few other upgrades to swap to an RP-8... But, even then I'm not sure it would compete with this!

I had essentially the same problem with a pair of Image towers once. Very dark sounding, and no treble. I unhooked the tweeter altogether to see how it sounded. Nothing changed. So, obviously there was no tweeter output. I ended up finding a pair of used tweeters from another set of PSB Images... Bo...

Hey folks, Thought I would pick the brain of somebody who could potentially explain something to me... Amps usually give ratings for 8ohm and 4ohm loads. Often times with quality amps you see for example, 100w @ 8ohm, 200w @ 4ohm... Half the resistive load, twice the power. But, 4ohm speakers are a ...

I've heard the Nag on a Rega arm... Never on a Pro Ject. I did install one on a friends Debut Carbon, but only listened briefly during setup after alignment. But, it sounded good. I also have a Goldring E3. I think it is a decent cart, but it is essentially an Audio Technica AT95 from what I've read...

Do the 700v series of speakers have removable tweeter grilles? Just curious!

Sad thing is there are tons of sites that do this as well. When you buy things internationally and they have a "no additional charges at the door" thing. If you look at their surcharges they are sooo much higher than a brokerage fee + tax. I think that people hate paying the extra not beca...

Watched the first episode of the new HBO mini series 'Sharp Objects'. Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée. Opening sequence showed what appeared to be a Grado cartridge on a nice looking arm. Later in the episode, the family is seen listening to LPs on what looks like a VPI table with a ton of Simaudio Moo...

Hey! I may have replied to a previous post or question about this by you. But, I, too, have a Michell modified arm with VTA adjustment on a Tecnodec. I have generally set it so that the arm is parallel to the playing surface. But, have tweaked it beyond this afterwards. I went from a Rega Exact to a...
