Two cables threads in a few days... Crazy. I am a big fan of the little guy that doesn't cost much but sounds great. Big fan of BJC, Kimber & AQ... BJC being the cheapest of the bunch. There are differences, and there are different price brackets. Find one that works best with your system. BJC i...

I like this thread, personally. And I think the OP wants an answer. Not a response about how boring of a debate this is. I think that if you have 50k worth of gear. Some funds should be dedicated to cabling. If I were to use a setup of similar proportions, I think 2k to 5k worth of cabling. Stick wi...

I had heard some MA Bronze's at my cousins place on a NAD 316... I was blown away at the veritable deal that this equipment can be had for at a reasonable price... In the last couple years, I managed to pick up a pair of Silver 2s, which I thought would give similar low end response to the smaller B...

This is very interesting to me! I have a Cambridge 640A V2, and I am certain it probably uses the same volume pot. I am not sure if you listen at low volumes, but I frequently listen at relatively low levels, and have ALWAYS noticed a channel imbalance at low volumes. I've heard this on other amps a...

This is unfortunate to hear. Living on the rock makes it hard to get there just to check out the show... So, no dice on that one for me. But, some year I shall go. The only thing that I could say about this is that it may not be existent by the time I get around to going! Would be pretty cool to ch...

I generally turn off most of the crazy image processing. Though, I sometimes leave edge enhancer on, and turn the brightness down to a moderate level for my room during normal watching... And this alone makes for a cleaner picture. Not sure if the colours are accurate really. But, it looks good on t...

I like Sunken Condos as well, but I think I like The Nightfly more. And the Steely Dan stuff, don't get me started. I've got Condos on LP... Would like to get Morph and Kama on LP as well, but are tougher to find and more pricey!

Would the extra 6dB change much in the way of compression? I assume you mean compression of dynamics? I think that it would be fine if it sounds good to you. And I would be mostly concerned with noise, personally. However, I am new to LOMC. Currently using 1:10 SUT for my OC9 at 0.4mV. Would a step ...

I was always curious about this as well. I had a notion that if they were in original boxes, it would be ideal, with the packing foams intact and such. But, then again, who knows what could happen once it leaves your hands! I would imagine FedEx to be one of the better ones. And Purolator has been t...

I find this interesting. I am fairly young. 31 years. I've always liked music since I was about 12. And, I started collecting LPs at around 20. With a crappy turntable, and the realization that potential for LPs to sound better was out there, I've been upgrading ever since. I started new, and though...

Thank you for the info! I'm not sure, but it seems my transformers only have 4 leads? 2 in 2 out? Does the schematic show two sets in and one out? Or, is it two sets, one for each side left and right?

It is something I would like to try. But, I don't really want to spend lots of money on it. I would probably cover one side of my amp, phono stage, step up, maybe CDP.

Thank you for your reply. I have moved it some. And it does change the hum. When I touch the casework, it seems to change the hum as well. I will most likely try with the ground going to the SUT and just the phono pre as it is now. But, I just wanted to know before I finish everything off, if it's w...
