Having done searches on HiFiShark enough to learn the search often leads to Gumtree for UK, and ebad.com more often than their own uk site. As for Ken's foray into the Japanese subject, try Jauce.com to simplify shopping. Its is pretty easy. It is an intermediary similar to the ebay program, but ind...

To convert a digital source to sound 'like' analog....for $40k, why not just buy an analog system and a few dolars left for $30 LP's? Are we at the place where a $40,000 DAC is a good idea to bring to market? Tchernov Audio Apollo DAC Asking Price: $39,475 "Retail" Price: $44,475 http://ww...

Well, as they say, your mileage may vary.
As your post was to complain, not take advice on how to improve your lot in CAM life, I won't offer any.
Their is a difference here from Kijiji #1... no Tupperware, dog collars, used art, (sorry, PreOwned art) cars, bikes, trikes...

Yes, their program sucks. The breakage and lost percentage rises with it. I've had items completely repacked at their clearing warehouse in KY. Items broken, but claimed paid 100%. So many hands get involved, they have to just swallow and pay up when its screwed up before the border crossing. Have y...

Look like 40R's? I bought a pair for $2 7-8 years ago, refoamd for about $25. Still use them in what was my office and enjoyed them. Go for the adventure and learning, forget the opinions against. As for checking, you have had some ok advice. Short of setting up a system source on the spot. See if y...

Interesting reads...some of them. If 1 fuse makes your equipment sound better, what about 2, or even 3? What if there is no fuse in the signal path, will the insertion of an audio grade fuse make a difference? A fuse or 2 pass around would be interesting, minimal cost, just shipping... Regards Ohms...

A fuse is a special 'wire'. FOA, there are many electrical conductors. And each has its own electrical and thermal properties. Some will conduct more electricity, some will conduct/make more heat. The current and the heat will/can change the conductor's properties at some degree. A fuse is special ...

Just 2 curiosities. - the fuse replaced, on power supply, or secondary circuit protect? Assuming AC input side. - i read the 2004 introduction of your preamp. The designer seems a respected engineer and 'deep thinker' of audio. Have you reached back to the brand to ask if they have researched premiu...

My old computer tech once called McAffey the biggest virus known to computers. So it seems the respons so far its not a wide spread user issue, just use the contact mods link at the bottom of the home page, and deal with it privately now? Its in the 'contact us' area, at the bottom of the home page....

Sasklite I love how you sit on the fence on the issue of "to do it or not to do it" LOL. When I sent the buyer the shipping cost estimate he was probably asleep in Belgium. Maybe I will wake up to "shipping is too much". Will keep you posted. I have heeded your warnings for sure...

Next time add a phone # to the address. This will also add confirmation of item being delivered correctly and if anyone is home before delivery or dropped off at the nearest depot. I like this idea, and suggest using black marker on yhe package, not the label. As this story spells out, it appears t...

bumping up a 10 day old thread.. At the recommendation of James_W, I bought a pair of the B&W STAV24. Found them locally, $190 + tax. They seem pretty well made, solid and easily filled with sand. They came with both floor and speaker spikes (although I'm using neither - opted for the included ...
