When you can get lost in the music, forgetting about all the flotsam and jetsam of life and focusing on the music like it is the only thing that matters at that moment of time. That is the goal of a stereo system. The best systems put me to sleep if I close my eyes and listen. Just disconnecting fr...

My MP501 arrived this week. It barely has two hours on the KT120 tubes. I also own. MP301, a Chinese 2A3B , a FU50 and a number of EL 84 amps. The biggest difference I hear with the MP501 compared to the others is the amount of Bass. More and tight. The amp seems to be able to really grab ahold of t...

A few things to check 1. Check and see if a wire is being pinched. 2. The cover might also be twisting the PC board / lower case. Do you need to push down on any of part of the cover to align the screw holes ? ... 3. Is there any possible heat buildup with the cover on ? 4. Check and see if the case...

Another example. You may or may not beware of this particular issue, or it may all be associated or it may be me. ;)

I tried a search today in the forums for mp-501. It ignored mp.

Screen shot attached.

Thanks for the review! I have had those speakers on my radar for awhile. You have encouraged me to to actively start looking for a pair.

Ken, some of us are listening and respect your opinion.

Don't lose the faith.

Thanks to both of you.

I have a pair of Cambridge Aero 6’s. They use a BMR. I would say the sound is balanced across frequencies. Non fatiguing and well suited to play most genres of music. I listen to Folk,Jazz, Blues and rock. I can turn them up to Rock levels and they are just as stable as mid level listening. I can no...

I made a comment on the CBC radio website last night after realizing it was gone. I built part of my system around listening to "Tonic". My tuner is a Lafette Tube Tuner , Tonic took on a special magic being played through it. CBC was very prompt in responding to me comment. The reply is b...

Yes.In some ways it is more important for me to have a good system in my vehicles. When life starts to suck and home is a little to chaotic, I jump in the truck and go for a long drive. I live near Ottawa, so usually head to Montreal for a smoked meat. The last two vehicles I have owned were trucks....

If you are going to get all nostalgic, why not tone controls, loudness compensation, multiple pair speaker switching and AFFORDABLE speakers and amplifiers. that were built to be repairable rather than throw away? +1 I really miss a balance control. I had hearing damage in my left ear a few years a...

I've been looking at MapleTree Audio design. I like what I read. Price is reasonable.
