6j8p is a driver tube. Not a rectifier tube. Do you want to replace the driver tubes or the rectifier ?

I have two Lafayette components. A LT-81C tube tuner. Still running original tubes. Very nice sound using FM. No issues with it so far, I have had it for three years. I dig the gold chassis of the tuner.

Second piece is a Lafayette SS piece. Circa 1977. It isn't tubes but is very reliable.

I would like that setting or flag also. It could save a lot of time going through ads just to find out at the bottom that there is no shipping.

Look at the middle resistor and the capacitor. They have a brown tinge. They must be being used for a heat shield.

I had never come across this before. If you've read it already my apologies. Not sure what its worth, but it does relate directly to the 301 MK 3 http://wallofsound.ca/audioreviews/amplification/6l6-vacuum-tube-review-tubes-courtesy-of-www-thetubestore-com/ Yep, that review is the reason I tried th...

Considerably.. . What was it missing? I bought two kits. One included the boards and all parts needed but no case. The second kits included the boards and a case. I ordered the PS from ebay for around $29. I used some cotton wrapped silver wire from Parts Connexion for the inputs and speakers termi...

Can someone explain what cryogenic treatment does to audio components? Like fuses , tubes and cables. Flame throwers , please do not respond. This thread has had enough hostility and I am not trying to stir things up.

Seek and you will find. So I am seeking....

My mistake. I was talking about the Amp Camp kit I purchased I from Frank Wang off of CAM. I had to drill and tap the holes for the mosfets. It is not as complete as the diy kit , but I had the extra parts needed in my workshop. It was also cheaper that the DIY AMP Camp kit.

I built one , and have another kit to start soon. I am using the suggested ps. Both channels in one chassis. I would suggest you build it and listen to it with the suggested ps before deciding it needs a better power supply. If it was good enough for Nelson, its good enough for me. The hardest part ...

Another angle. It explains my situation which may apply to other people here. I am 55. My hearing changes day to day. If I had a shower and there is water in my ears, if I exercised or was working outside strenuously seems to change my hearing. I personally think the biggest variables in our listeni...

The compact model cost $7729.75 CAD. Do you really want to spend that much money on unknown speakers ?
