Best bang for the buck transport where you can plug in a USB drive, hard drive or upnp and use the built in DAC or even bypass it if you have one, is the Bluesound Node 2. Even plays MQA files. Great user interface and great sound quality. Very underpriced for the quality. $500 on the used market. $...

IMO, I'd forego the $5 or $20 cable that people are recommending and get a proper audiophile USB cable. Without getting into a cable debate, you can buy a good one from Audio Sensibility or Audioquest for less than $90. There is a difference in sound IMO.

There's only been 2 times where I've noticed an improvement with speaker cables. Naim NACA5 and BIS Audio Maestro. Especially the Maestro. I'm not sure how to explain it, but everything was just better.

Depends on the product. Some brands you wont get a discount on, and others 30%. And if it's on clearance even 40%. Establishing a good relationship with your dealer is more important though. Great service is priceless. I had a great experience when I lived in the Toronto area. After buying a couple ...

That’s why my neighbor can’t be bothered with things like oil changes, timing belts, mystery noises under the hood etc.

Well, I took a risk and bought it without an audition as the seller was a few hours away, but agreed to meet halfway. Hooked it up 10 minutes ago and I am floored at how amazing this 34 year old amp sounds. I now see what the fuss is all about with these classic Naim amps. Sounds better than most of...

Hi, Planet of Sound wrote: 'You get what you pay for with cartridges.' Really? No price creep at all during the vinyl revival? No flood of uber expensive MC cartridges all claiming to be better than anything else on planet earth? Cheers, David Neice I remember about 6 years ago when I got into Viny...

everything you are telling us indicates this unit was converted to 110. I gather that you were unable to test it when picked up from the previous user. I suggest you plug it in and test it. You should not experience any damage to the amp....I would, however, start with a cheap set of speakers :shoc...

would need to be in parallel but there would be an issue with 240V 50hz (Europe) and 120v 60hz (North America) The non-detatchable power cable is North American. Europe has different plugs on cables, no? This would lead me to believe that maybe it was modified or converted to NA standards and maybe...

Two 120 volts wired in series would be 240 volts I have a Yorkville amp that is wired that way It's an older Naim Nait that someone has had and used for over 30 years.....and the back has a blue 240v sticker, and next to that it says: "Internal Fuse - 120v:2 amp antisurge 240v:1 amp antisurge ...

I think you just need to turn up the volume knob. I've got the same amp and a Nagaoka MP110 cartridge on a Pro-ject RPM5.1 and in order to get the same volume that I get from my CD player at 9 o clock, I have to set the volume knobm almost at the 12 o clock position when using the turntable.

So, basic question...If you have an integrated amp designed to run at 240v, what happens if you plug it into a 120v socket? Technically it should work as you're not overloading it, right? But is it safe? Will it perform the same?

Thanks

I've sold a lot of stuff on CAM and once had a guy bring a multi-meter, and a stethoscope and ran all sorts of crazy tests on an $800 pair of speakers I sold him. It was a bit mucho IMO, but whatever makes people feel comfortable Whenever I buy speakers, I simply listen to them with a song that I'm ...
