Not driving for almost 2 décades, I have sort of lost touch with the parking situation downtown, but generally speaking, any parking lot exiting on St-Jacques is your best bet for a quick getaway, BUT they are insanely popular and fill up first and fast because of that. Seeing that you are coming fr...

Hello CAM Fam! just wondering if anyone can help me out. I recently picked up a vintage JBL corner speaker and was looking for some info on it. There is no indication that it is a JBL, (to my eye anyway), until you open it up. inside is loaded with a N1200 crossover, D 130 woofer and a 1217-1290 po...

I don't see anyone bringing up the major sound différences between speakers with hiorn loaded bass sections (Altec A-5/A-7, Klipschorn or LaScala) and conventional bass sections with horns for the mids and/or highs (Alted Model 19, Klipsch Cornwall). Horn loaded bass sort of hits you way harder and ...

Great point Binky!

But that being said, the fuse socket (or pigtail solder joints) become the limiting factor or weakest link.

zeagan, you can always try and contact OakTreeVintage for rebuilt original Advent woofers (which were 10", not 12" IIRC). They do not have any stock on them right now, but than can change from week to week. BTW, there was officially no such thing as a Larger Advent; it was always referred ...

At this time (since 2002 in fact), these Arc-fault breakers are REQUIRED by law for ALL new electrical circuits in bedrooms whereever a wire goes through a wall or floor. They should eventually be required for ALL electrical circuits in your home as the laws change. What is telling you that you have...

Keep things civil, polite and respectful or I WILL shut this thing down ASAP.

Anyone ever made sound absorption panels using towels? Every type of fabric or any other material has different acoustic p...

Yes, I was thinking of using the speaker connections on a powered sub. I don't have anything specific in mind, just something not too expensive, with maybe a 10 inch driver. I'm going out to check the pawn shops now. The other thing I was thinking about was maybe getting a pair of efficient larger ...

I'm afraid that you cannot do this with a powered sub; you WILL fry the sub's amplifier which is meant to accept ONLY a line-level signal and not an amplified one. Now, if your external sub has "speaker-level" inputs (binding posts or screws), then your scenario would work (fewer and fewer...
