Jean is an awesome guy !! Ive had Jean's tables for years now, here is a pic of my Ultimate, the actual first one he ever made. Paired with the Ikeda/Ikeda combo, it has it all. I think mine may have been his third or fourth Ultimate build ;) What is that slab of marble resting underneath? This is ...

First I started with LFD speaker cabling, then i bought an LFD LE V Integrated, kept going up the line (and the sound kept getting better) and now i have an LFD Line Stage, monoblocks, phono stage and all cabling except for power. Im really happy with the top to bottom balance and musicality.

Your room may be too small for the larger Tannoys as they do like plenty of breathing room. I have Definition DC10Ts and they are 6 feet out in a 15ft x 22ft room and the bass can be overwhelming at times. I also have a set of Revolution XT6Fs in an 17ft x 11ft room and they can still fill the room,...

I have DC10Ts and if you love full, rich sound, with powerful and very agile bass, then this is a great speaker for you. It's a very capable and dynamic speaker if you pair it with high quality electronics. Be careful of the tube amps you may want to pair with as the impedance dips (below 3ohms) can...

Nobody likes the idea of being ripped off, but Its not easy to do business these days as so many people are trying way too hard to save money instead of supporting local businesses. It has started a chain reaction. This is why Canadians (and people in most other countries in the world) are having a ...

You could argue with his points of view but never about his passion for audio and his beloved Acoustats.
I must admit, ill miss the "snap, crackle, pop" references he so eloquently shared about vinyl :D
Farewell Mr Acoustat

Really, are you serious? You mean that Technics sounds best because it is direct drive?

There is something very special about listening to music that has the timing right which direct drive and Idler drive mechanisms achieve, generally speaking.

Full range speakers and the bass they can provide. Jim Smith (of Get Better Sound) go it right when he said you need to get the bass right in your listening room. Ive found that there is no replacement for displacement and ever since getting a set of Tannoys with their big drivers, the music is so m...

As someone who does not sell to make money, but rather someone who like to have fun changing gear up every so often, i am also disappointed with the amount of lowballers and tire kickers with no etiquette. My current "filter" is stating a firm price and even still i get people trying to ne...

Yeah, giving to charity is wrong..... sheesh... . Erik, i know its hard to accept the mere idea that people would do such a thing as take advantage of the concept of a charity, but empathy does not apply to corrupt people. A quick search on google will show that charities do have issues, but i can’...

Forgive me if this sounds wrong, but how about donating the profits to charity? This is a noble idea (and i was dong it for years) until i found out the shocking generalization that 90% of our good hearted and hard earned donations actually end up as "admin fees" and are paid to fatcat CE...
