we are talking about a backup pair of atom v2's?! on one hand I've seen em as low as $50/pair on kijiji so no big investment. on the other hand why waste coin on something for basically parts? if money/space not an issue then go for it but like others mentioned try em stacked. play! on the other oth...

Originally the tube was contracted to shuguang but Psvane later bought out the guiguang?? factory. Shuguang was partially govt controlled...this was a way to maximize profits...or that's how I kinda understood it. Higher standards? It's still a shuguang/guiguang tube made on shuguang/guiguang toolin...

A $300 pair of tubes in a $1000 amp, IMO and personal experience, no. Have you tried any vintage pre tubes? If you look, for roughly $50/ pair try some used sylvanias or matsushitas or consider some used organ pulls.... Thinking anything will better those reissue mullards. Why not...especially if i...

I have sold a couple of pairs. Probably not as good as Dynaco A25's but still OK. That's a bit of a stretch imo. IMO , the Dynaco's are more cohesive, less boom and sizzle. Much easier to listen to.
