When I broke mine a few years ago, I took advantage of the trade in. Got a decent discount on the new cartridge, and the new one had the improved stylus (Microridge) which tracks sibilance much better. I really like Gliders, and think those as well as the Ace are amazing cartridges at their price po...

Greetings All, In a previous post I asked which TT should I use as my main and got many suggestions to dump what I had and buy a good TT. Sound advice if the wallet is agreeable. Now my question today is : What makes a great TT? What qualities should I look for? Is the price the determining factor?...

I've only ever picked up an issue, maybe two. But, I wasn't keen on it. Wasn't all that interesting... However, my Stereophile subscription just ran out, and, with the Canadian Dollar not doing good up against the US... It cost almost $50 to renew! A far cry from when I first started when I believe...

It's still threaded wrong. The tape should be on top of the lifters (those two pins on either side of the heads}. They keep the tape away from the heads when fast forwarding or rewinding, and move back to let the tape contact the heads in play and record.

Audio Alliance is the Canadian distributor for iFi. You can enquire about a local dealer on their site : http://www.audioallianceinc.com/pages/find-a-dealer . We have iFi at the store I work in out in Saskatoon, but there must be dealers much closer to you! For what it's worth, I think the iPhono 2 ...

I often order from Acoustic Sounds and Elusive Disk. Count on about $5.00 US per disk for shipping via USPS (double records $10.00). I usually get dinged for brokerage and GST (we don't have HST out here). Make sure you use a discount code as all of the big USA record dealers run specials almost all...

I find myself enjoying lots of music I thought was poorly recorded and unlistenable in the past simply because my system has gotten better. Good gear gets you closer to the music, no matter how it was recorded. It isn't just about deep bass and clear highs, if your system can portray rhythm and harm...

I would strongly suspect no. The software is really just controlling Music Player Daemon, a Linux module that actually does the work. I have used Mpad along with Bryston's Manic Moose, and never noticed any difference in sound quality.

Yeah, that's where I got mine. It came right from England and took around a month and a bit. Amplifoto has the Ilfotol back in stock. About $30 with delivery for a litre. The only Amplifoto I found is in Madrid, Spain. Ilfotol is available in Canada from Amplis Photo which is the distributor for Il...

The best setup IMO was the Kaiser Acoustic Kawero/Kondo combo but for my personal listening tastes I liked the main Raidho room. A gentleman I had dinner with also liked the Kharma and Lamm the most but everyone at the table had different favorites. The Egglestonworks Ivy Signature SE/Dan D'Agostin...

There is more info on the Amari RW 600 near the bottom of this thread : https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/clear-audio-professional-or-klaudio-record-cleaner Sounds like the Cattylink people are a bit unreliable. Too bad, as their price at $888 usd is quite a bit less than the eBay listings. As ...
