Linux live USB stick, or a mini computer + regular partitioning / formatting tools.

You should do a block by block check after to see if they're good drives as well.

Large array of hard drives on a local server + 20TBs of music stored on a cloud service, not as a mirror but as 'auto-snatches' so to speak.

Who is still spinning discs?? O_o it doesn't surprise me at all.

The only legitimate venture I can see for someone making physical players would be something with proper video scalers rivaling high end HTPC's (MadVR) and offering excellent file based playback.

I'm 90% sure this is trolling, read the phrasing?? Plus he's asking about specifically wireless headphones.

Could I please ask for suggestions for a Bluetooth headphone amp (not portable)? Thanks, Greg Lazin Hoping to help out here, Greg. Those are some nice cans you've got. You could look into this https://www.headamp.com/order/headamp-gs-x-mk2-balanced-headphone-amplifier/ but maybe tubes would be more...

Guys if I were you and if you CARE about your backups, stay far away from Seagate. Terrible reliability from my (and many others) experience. I had one that just died after 1.5 years (internal drive in my full tower PC). Unfortunately before I could do a final backup it decided to quit on me and I ...

I've been so f*cking curious about the Vidar. I've liked everything else Schiit I've bought so I have high hopes.

23, been at this almost a decade now? Started with some KRK studio monitors in my little office space, moved to totem mites, now I have a dedicated room and much better gear.
I still do like the sound of those mites tho.

Thanks, I'll try XLD. My Fiio is set to gapless playback but doesn't resolve. Drag-and-drop far easier since I can just pull directly from CD. Guess I'll need to rip my entire CD collection all over again *sigh* :x You'll thank yourself for it, so will your ears. "Secure" ripping is the o...

Despite being very skeptical of these home assistants, I stopped being a paranoid old person and set mine up after seeing it in action at one of my partner's houses. I can honestly say its super useful. Out of the box its garbage but with scripting / IFTT I've fully integrated it into my media playb...

I have found a bit of an annoyance when ripping my CD's (AIFF) to my Mac... I've found it easiest to just drag-and-drop the aiff tracks directly from the mounted CD on my Mac desktop. However, when I play the album on my Fiio X3, there is a harsh "clipping" or "skipping" noise b...

The ODroid stuff is usually better than the PI's. I wouldn't call this a NAS tho, its only a single drive, you can get like what, 10tbs max from it?

Yeah they're fine. Occasionally they've helped me out when I just can't find something or need to fill high bounty requests.
Site's a bit of a **** and I think I had to use a VPN to get some of the albums I wanted.

I won’t disagree but what is the definition of clean? A computer suffering from high DPC Latency does not have to be infected with malware or bogged down with hundreds of processes. Example: Nvidia writes a GPU driver to cover a vast amount of different video cards. A user with a lower end Nvidia G...

I don't think Nakamichel would disagree with me if I said it was a horrendous task to get all the music off a CD. Even expensive players can go wrong, or at least wrong as far as I'm concerned. For some reason it appears hard to get an intact bitstream off the disc in real time, to start with. Sure...
