I know the best, David Susilo. Ya, I work the guy so I'm a little biased but just Google his name for his laundry list of credentials and A/V companies he's made contributions to. ISF and THX Certified, PhD in Psychoacoustics, 30K Twitter followers lol I've always been more interested in his ear for...

Honestly if you're happy with your speakers just add a second sub. Any speaker you purchase to reproduce bone bass will to be too large for you to want to move it for every listening session...unless it's castered like Wilson's. While I'm a dealer for JL (as well as high-end audio, too many brands t...

I've also bought and sold HD800 a couple of times. SDR mod really was the difference in them sticking around this time - not applicable to HD800S. Also owned the HD800S and preferred my SDR modded HD800 as I felt the bass leaked into the midrange and weren't as transparent nor open sounding. Used a ...

I'm very curious of the sonics between the Pontus, Venus and Terminator myself. Torq reviewed an Ares over at SBAF. He's holding back his thoughts on the Pontus until the other members on the tour get a chance to hear it. I'm in the market for a DAC but I still have no idea which one to get. One of ...

What do you personally consider to be the ‘sweet spot’ product (or products) in your range in terms of maximum performance per dollar ($), pound (£), or euro (€)? What sets those products apart? George Cardas: Iridium Speaker & Interconnect are far and away the best performance per dollar—what ...

First of all good choice on Cardas! I was never a huge fan of George's designs (a little too warm for me) but his newer offerings are much more neutral. With that being said, this is an easy one...Iridium!!! Working in the business I've been able to use every interconnect from Nordost, Kimber, AQ, C...

The best budget bookshelf speaker I've heard in a long time is the ELAC B6. They image really well and the bass is good. The downside is you need decent electronics to get the most out of them. Unequivocally yes, the Debut series are the best budget speakers going today....B5 are the best value of ...

While both were good choices - auditioned the 20X2L and owned the Black, 10X5, 17D3 and XX2 MK2 all on a VPI Classic - the highest value-for-dollar carts going today are from the Excel Sound Corporation out of Japan under the name Hana. They have been making OEM carts for other companies for decades...

Sure it will but that would be as far as I would go with a Debut. It's the table I started out with and I went as far as a 10x5 and Trichord Dino before upgraded to a P3. I'm on my 7th turntable now but it's quelled my upgraditis...well until I win the lottery.

Change the cartridge. A Denon DL-110 goes the same direction as a Dynavector DV10x5, at a lower cost. IMO, you'd do better with a cartridge upgrade and I completely agree with Alec on the DL-110. While your phono stage is by no means a stunner, IMO your weak link is your cart. Just checking Canadia...

More info such as your musical preferences and existing gear would help but off the top of my head; RP6 if you like to rock, Clearaudio Concept if you'd rather not and VPI Scout if you go either way. Or, you could just go up the Project ladder as they make quality TT's. IMO your top "hope in h...

I bought a Mytek 96 adc to archive my vinyl. I hooked up to my Mac Mini via a Silflex optical cable and used Audacity. Worked extremely well, making very high quality conversions of my record collection. At first I bought a RME Babyface and a Aqvox USB Power Svupply but wasn't impressed with the sq ...

I agree with supaDean on both fronts. You will have to eliminate/substitute components and cables to narrow down the culprit. Don't buy a Monster brand plc...not worth it, even on the cheap. Cheapest plc's I can think of (that actually clean up the ac line) are from Blue Circle Audio. I may take som...

Ya, sorry for the length. I can just go on and on sometimes..er..all the time. You've (lol,"I") made a great choice and saved cash too boot. If you have any questions when you get all setup don't hesitate to PM me. If you don't mind reading my novels I don't mind writing them:) Take care.
