Hello Canuck members & specially vintage audio fans & collectors;
I myself am a huge vintage audio fan & have a large collection made up of many top vintage audio components made by the top Japanese brands in the golden era of audio inthe mid 70s to the early 80's before everthing just went to chaep looking black finish plastic disposable junk!
I'm not a technician but I do have a lot of experince in the vintage audio department & also gained a lot more working on my own units to restore them as closely as possibly to thier original glory condition! This is certainly a labour of love as it is a VERY time consuming & detailed work & process! In order to do a proper cosmetic restoration of a vintage unit I will take the unit fully apart & clean & detail it inside & out piece by piece! The end results of my work are however often just stunning as my work more often than not makes a day & night difference!
I also fully service the unit & depending on what it is clean & demagnetize the heads lube the moving parts clean the pots & switches etc. I can do minor repairs such as replacing bad or loose belts burnt out light bulbs & such as well.
Just recently a fellow member of Canuck who knew me & my work asked me to do what I do for my own units for his newly bought Sansui QD-5500 quadrophonic reel-to-reel deck & after seeing a picture of the ''project'' I agreed! The deck was just dirty & filthy after all those years of neglect but it had a good base for me to do my work on it. After I was finished with it (some 6 hours later that is!) the deck looked absolutely clean & stunning & worked very smoothly as well! The owner could not be happier or more proud to show off his new deck to his audio friends!
When I saw his satisfaction & the glow in his face & how happy he was now after years I have finally decided to also offer my special services on Canuck to fellow Canuck members on a limited basis. I can only accept certain restoration projects & the cost depending on the unit varies from $80 to $250. There is also no rush jobs here! Time takes time as they say & you can not rush perfection! having said that the average ''restoration job'' takes between 7 to 10 days for me to completed so don't think that your unit will be here for weeks & weeks but don't expect 1 day service!
If you're interested in bringing back your beloved & chErished vintage auduio unit back to its glory days & how it once looked just send me an email with a breif description of your unit & its current condition full brand & model # and if all possible a picture of it & we'll just take it from there.
In the ad you can also see some ''startling'' pictures of my recent resrtoration works on some top vintage audio gear! You'll be just amazed in the difference that it can make!
I'm located in the Hamilton Ontario area but you can also drop off your unit in the west end Toronto where I work. If you're too far for that you can also always just ship your unit to me. Obviously the S&H cost back & forth will be your responsibility.
Regards;
Fareed
