Up for sale is a VK-5SE preamp all-triode , fully balanced, zero-triode design. The auto-biasing feature means a zero-hassle tube experience. The SE designation indicates that it has been significantly upgraded by BAT to incorporate six 6H30P Super-tubes, "Six Pack" capacitors & new toroidal transformers . I sent the unit back for the upgrade which alone is $2500. The upgrade moves it into another league of performance. This is a phenomenal unit in perfect working condition . BAT's original metal remote (a $500 option) is included. Only blemishes are tiny scratches on the underside from Rollerblocks/Stillpoints & the like. Original retail was $4500 for the base unit (non-SE). Compare to an identical unit on sale at Audiogon for US$2900. Meticulously pampered in a no-pet , non-smoking environment.
