Description
** This Ad is Marked as OFF by seller and cannot be responded to. ** This paragraph added May 24th - price reduced (from $1250) to $1125. If no 'bites' on this, it will go on Audiogon, where (from my experience), it will be 'gon' soon enough. A Class A rated component in Stereophile, and rave reviews - search the web. I'm the second owner of this pristine unit - MSRP (US)$1750 (so duties + taxes if you buy it like that). The prior owner liked it so much he decided to invest $3500 in the Wavelength Coalesce (the next level 'up'). I may do the same. This is a DAC that has a USB input from your computer (desktop/laptop). The computer 'reads' the Brick as the output source and results in bypassing of the computer's DAC so that the digital files can be converted to analog using this excellent component. There are RCA jacks out of the Brick to your stereo. For those who have read audio comments relatively recently, there has been praise for uncompressed audio files, the central problem being bypassing the computer's own (inferior) DAC. This is the solution. Read the Stereophile report. PayPal add 3%, but this price includes shipping in Canada (the States would be $20 more). Original box, materials, AC adapter, USB-to-Brick cord - you only need the RCA cables and a digital source. Fantastic. I have a 465, 100% + rating on ebay ("Herschel.R") and great feedback here, so no worries on your part. I'll ignore (politely) lowball bidders, and will not entertain lower $ for at least 7 days after this is posted. It's a great deal already - I haven't checked every nook and cranny but would guess it's virtually indistinguishable from a new Brick sent from the manufacturer ... and at $500 less and no duties/taxes or shipping charges (for fellow Canucks). Pictures to come in a day or two. Cameron
