Up for sale is an Akai GX-255 reel to reel in FANTASTIC condition. This beauty shines like new and is in immaculate condition. All functions have been tested and everything works 100% correctly. All 2CS458 transistors have been replaced with new 2SC1815 transistors (very quiet machine - no hiss). The unit was also lubed and De-Oxit used on all controls (no static noise on any control). This deck is ready to go! The Akai GX-255 features the famous Glass and Crystal Ferrite heads which Akai has given a lifelong warranty! They are known for their reliability and extra high frequency response. These heads are virtually indestructable and dust free. This means the high frequencies don't go dull due to wear since this specific type of head is made out of hard glass and crystal ferrite.
