Titanium replacement counterweight for Rega tonearms. Machined with three sets of thin contact rails that ride on the Rega arm's counterweight stub. The sonic improvement was "amazing," thought MF; he found the F2 gave better bass response, greater low-frequency extension and control, and an improved sense of overall weight and tonal richness. "The more I learn about tonearm behavior, the less Rega's O-ring-suspended counterweight makes sense to me. The compressed O-ring is a spring with a high resonant frequency that's probably in the range of music - it can't decouple the counterweight one whit, and can probably do only bad things to the sound".

WILL FIT THE RB 300, RB 600, RB 900 & RB 1000 as well as ORIGIN LIVE tonearms. For the RB 250, the end stub must be changed.

F2 - TITANIUM Heavyweight counterweight for the Rega & the Origin Live tonearms is made from high-grade titanium and is CNC precision milled. The hole is offset so as to drop the center point of gravity of the counterweight.

F2 - TITANIUM Heavyweight counterweight is included in the current Stereophile Recommended Component list and has been so since its review back in May 2003 Analog Corner.

The F2 - TITANIUM Heavyweight counterweight was also reviewed by HiFi+... "In many ways this was my favorite of the three weights, sonically. It produces a lucid yet very smooth and forgiving sort of sound that ensures good detail without exaggerating faults". The other two counterweights in the review were: Michell Tecno Counterweight and the "New & Improved" (after the Stereophile review) The Heavy Weight counterweight (and no longer in business).
