Description

This is a very special Cary 5500S.
It is not JUST a line section, but also contains a phono preamp.
But that is not what makes it special.
This is a maxed out Cary done by the factory for a dealer.
the original owner bought it from the dealer. This 5500 has double the power supply.
That is two external toroidal transformers. Additionally, it has shock absorbing tube sockets in the line section.
It also has custom Cary coupling capacitors, and very expensive resistors and capacitors throughout.
This is one heck of a line section!
The Penny and Giles volume pot alone was an additional $50 upgrade.
It uses Tiffany RCA inputs and outputs.
This preamp is quality built from the input all the way to the end
HAS phono section, (MM)
