I am here offering my treasured Technics SP10 Mark II Turntable.
(No tire-kicking enquirers. Only serious audiophiles are expected).
This is a Direct Drive TT which can do away with rubber belt aging and belt rumble problems. It has minimum wow and flutter (0.025% WRMS), providing 33,45 & 78 RPM. In 33RPM. Also it takes just as little as 0.25sec = 25 degrees of a turn to build up the rated speed and 0.30sec to brake. Thanks to the most critical quartz control circuitry, Speed Drift is within 0.002% and Speed Fluctuation within 5KG load is 0%! It works on a dual voltage SH-10E Power Unit thus AC noise is not induced. All specifications are superb and unmatched by others. It was solidly built and delivers whatever one may expect from a truely musical turntable w/o misleading fringes. (while reading my Ad, don't tell me you have in mind a starter grade or DJ TT). Power Unit is included in this sale, of course.
Matsushita,"under the pine" in Japanese language, (is also well known as Panasonic, Technics or National) introduced the first and the best rice cooker, and SP10, is its first and best among the high-end musical world bests. It's the Japanese style that people focus on details, and nothing is too small for them to be overlooked! While we appreciate German engineering, we cannot repudiate the Japanese talent and imagination in fine electronics.
Base: It is equiped with original obsidian, combing laminated-wood base and moulded acrylic cover, providing the best factory tested resonance-free result.
* Dust Cover Hinges - common to all, the original design failed to keep covers to stay open soon after use. (the only flaw - mechanical-wise, I can find from this TT). I modified them within my own workshop so now the cover can be held up right as long as I wish (not in listening mode, of course).
* Dust cover has a minor crack, fixed with solvent alread but trace is still visible.
Pickup Arm: SME Series III tonearm - need no more introduction, unless you are not one of us.
Cartridge: Shure Type IV - one of the best in trackability and compliance, delivers most reliable and quality sound that is so true and faithful, smooth, silky, warm and sweety, not over-bright and absolutely no fancy colouration.
Styli: VN-45E,(Brand New). They are aftermarket replacements with diamond tips, made by the same original German/Swiss manufacturer, according to the supplier.(the one installed has run-in hours of about 20 on new and testing records and the other is 100% brand new, still in box).
This setup passed all critical testing records of mine with 0.90 gram effective weight, but I chose 1.10 gram for richer musical body! (Weight scale shown not for sale).
This is a very heavy turntable. Although with the motor clamped for shipping is okay, but pick up in GTA is preferred.
I'm the original first hand owner. So, please don't ask me about its history!
