The unit is clean and has been well cared for. It does not come with its manual but this can be obtained at this link: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/6353/Akai_Akai%204000DS.html Apart from the two take up spools, the tape deck comes with five tapes in boxes. These have been used and have the contents of a 1960's record collection on them.
