The unit is in absolutely pristine condition and hardly used (wife doesn't like loud music at all), you can see the unit review here: http://www.audioreview.com/cat/amplification/integrated-amplifiers/micromega/ia-400/prd_479202_2717crx.aspx

Will ship complete with original remote control, power cable, user's manual and manufacturer's box.

Micromega IA-400 200W Dual Mono Integrated Amplifier Remote control, phono stage, mint condition! Original box and manual Retails for $3600 new
Full featured, high power integrated amplifier from and made in France! The IA-400 provides 200 watts into 8 ohms and doubles down into 400 watts under 4 ohm loads, a hallmark of a true high power capability. The design is dual mono, with a 1kVA toroidal power transformers, followed by ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers and four 10000μF smoothing capacitors. Most power amplifiers aren't built this well.

Built-in moving magnet phono stage for your turntable and a headphone amplifier are built in. The volume control even uses a high-end resistor ladder and ultra low noise regulators, something typically only seen in sophisticated, high-end preamplifiers.

+ Five RCA inputs for all your gear. The unused inputs can even be switched off. + Smartremoved phone number for privacyfront panel input + Headphone amp + Phono stage for your turntable + Full tape loop for recording + Processor input for your home theatre + Preamp output + Subwoofer output + Remote control

The Absolute Sound: "Bass control was excellent, something I’ve come to expect from Class D power—the rolling thunder of tympani during Copland’s Fanfare being a prime example, the steady kick of the bass drum during Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” being another. The Wilson Sophia 3, on the other hand, is a speaker that demands an awful lot from an amplifier. In most instances the Micromega was a model of unflappable consistency and the Sophia sounded fabulous."

DESCRIPTION:

200 watts/ch integrated amp with 400 watts/ch into 4 ohms. It is very full featured with, Remote Control, a nice MM phono stage, 5 analog inputs, full tape loop, processor input, low noise preamplifier, preamp/subwoofer output, dual mono amp design with 1000VA transformers, a resistor ladder volume control and nice headphone amplifier. All input switching is done by relays.

INFORMATION FROM THE MICROMEGA WEBSITE:

Micromega, with over 20 years of experience in amplifier development, is proud to announce IA-400, a very powerful integrated amplifier capable of driving almost all types of speakers, even the most demanding ones. Despite the fact that the unit is integrated, we can consider it as two different units in the same box: the preamplifier section and the power amplifier. The preamplifier is a very low noise state of the art gain section with extremely low noise power supplies and sophisticated layout to avoid any ground loop. A specific r-core transformer is dedicated to all low levels signals, avoiding cross coupling between the two sections and preventing any disturbance from the mains line to enter the product. Ultra low noise regulators are feeding the preamplifier section to allow very accurate low level resolution. Input switching is done by relays and the input impedance of 100kΩ guarantees that the preamplifier section will not load the different sources connected to it. Volume control is achieved by a digitally controlled resistor ladder with extremely low distortion. The output of the preamplifier section is
buffered by j-fet amplifiers and then balanced to avoid ground coupling between the preamplifier section and the power amplifier modules.

The power amplifier section has its own 1kVA toroidal “quiet design” power
transformer, followed by ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers and 4x 10000μF smoothing capacitors in a dual mono configuration. These modules are class D modules with no less that 400W/4Ω output power capacity (200wpc @ 8 ohms). The choice of class D has been dictated by our quest for reliability, size and sonic quality, together with high efficiency and low temperature operation. The modules are protected for under voltage, overvoltage and short circuit. A DC detection circuit prevents any damage to the loudspeakers in case of a dramatic failure occurring to the power modules.

In addition, IA-400 provides a great number of features, some being unique to this kind of amplifiers. A blue VFD display, with 7mm high characters, readable for up to 10m, gives at all time, a clear status of the unit, indicating channel selection and playing level. A balance setup is available and has an indication on the front display.

A very high quality MM phono section will please all vinyl record lovers. A sub out, associated with a pass through sub in, allows for different setup when using the IA-400 in a 2.1 system or when using the IA-400 as front amplifier in a multi channel setup. All inputs can be named from a library list stored in the memory of the unit.

Unused inputs can be switched off to optimize access time. A headphone amplifiers available with a front output and its separate volume control setup is stored in the product. A true monitor loop is accessible for users willing to insert an external unit in the signal path.

The case work with its sandblasting finish, available in two colors silver or black, is superb and the build quality is to the highest standards.

ONLINE REVIEW:

What first grabbed us about this amplifier is its power, the result lives up to the spec in many respects. It's got a powerful, but smooth-edged grip that controls the bass in a muscular fashion; it makes up for the lack of balanced socketry and heavy machining the moment you put something with a bit of welly in the player.

The immediacy and image precision with a pair of ADN speakers is nothing short of gripping; this is a speaker that likes power.

At this point we stuck a Primare i32 into the system to see if the price difference makes sonic sense. It does: the Micromega is considerably better at revealing space, the acoustic of the recording, not to mention its dynamics and timing. There really isn't any contest; you clearly get more for your money.

On the all-important Airstream front we used a Macbook to make a direct comparison between the laptop's optical output via a Stello DA100 Signature DAC and an Airstream feed. The latter produces a considerably wider soundstage in the context of a more relaxed presentation when using iTunes alone as the player, however if you add the Pure Music player into the mix this gives the optical output a significant edge by adding improved dynamics to the mix.
The Stello is a £750 convertor and Pure Music costs £80, so the combined cost approaches that of adding Airstream to the IA-400 when you take a decent optical lead into the equation.

As we also had Leema Acoustic's Tucana II to hand, this was brought into the fray to see how the AS-400 compared with something in the same price arena. It proved to be tonally richer and able to deliver greater depth and dynamics compared to the Leema, which produces a more solid, but less refined sound, which is a pretty good result.

Apple at its core
What is most appealing about this amp is being able to sit down with an iPad and play whatever you like, it's a world-class interface and the sound produced is clearly superior to that available with an analogue connection.

At heart this is a rather good amplifier: its musical, dynamic and has bags of power. Input selection is a bit limited and the build quality could be better, but if it's sound you are after then this hits the mark. And thanks to the Airplay factor, it's a doddle to set up and start enjoying.
